Callisto v0.50 - Week 17 Update
🕑 Added 2020-10-23 06:37:43 +0000 UTCRendering of animations has been going so well over the past few weeks, I elected to bring forward the work on the interface for the lewd content. First cab off the rank was to post-process all of the animation stills and then encode into video files. I have been remaining mindful of the game file size, however elected to render these at slightly higher bitrate. At the lower bitrate I was using before, I was getting significant quality loss. Don't worry, it won't get out of hand and I have no plans to split the game prior to completion. Here is the state of the current animation rendering progress.
I will actually be able to include slightly more than planned in the beta, with the remainder by the release of the full v0.50.
Following copying all of these animations across to my playable game directory, I have completed the bulk of the coding required for implementation. It's in my version and currently functioning, just needs a little tweaking and them copying code across to other characters. This new system is somewhat similar to the previous lewd content with Lia, however more expansive, in terms of crew involved and acts performed. The animations are also superior in terms of length and quality. The other work related to this is stills, for the introduction and post-coitus events. I will pose the remainder of these today.
Other work that was undertaken this week was to flesh out the races that will appear later in the game. This involves creating backgrounds for each, including strengths / weaknesses and also a hook to tie them into the game. These will play a significant role in v0.80. I know it seems too early to be considering these races now, however they will appear in the side quests and locations like the Beehive bar prior to v0.80. If you don't plan things out, then stories tend to take weird unexplainable changes of direction. For those on Discord you will have seen a few test images this week.
As you can see above, things are generally going fairly well. There is still a couple of weeks creating content / coding and then just under a week of internal testing. I do not foresee any problems during testing, as the more complicated code has already been created and partially tested. As a little teaser, an image from the adult story finished at the beginning of the week.
