Callisto 0.50 - Week 7 Update
🕑 Added 2020-08-14 14:51:49 +0000 UTCDamn real life stuck it's head up again this week, reducing the time available to create content for Callisto. Thankfully several related to items that I will not have to deal with for at least another year (eg tax). I was however able to complete the script / code for the second side story and have just sent it off for proof reading / creative review. As it currently stands it's around 1,000 lines of code requiring about 400 images and a few animations. This is roughly double the size of the first side mission. The mission outcomes are significantly divergent and will also have consequences in later versions of the game. On a single play through, you will likely experience about 60% of this content, however you can always try the remainder via the scene replay. This story writing is honestly what I find the most challenging to create.
I didn't make much progress on the lewd animations this week, however did devote some time to further developing the Alice / Sam characters. Of all the characters those were the two that I hadn't really decided upon their outcomes at the conclusion of the game. Whilst the conclusion is still a ways off, it is important to plan these things out, such that content created now, is consistent with the final outcome. Consistent doesn't mean that it will become obvious what is going to happen, just that their actions do not contradict their nature.
To provide a little sneak peak, I have been seeing what alternatives are available for Sam's development, as her ability to learn starts to pay dividends. In addition to personality development, I have also been considering upgrades to her hardware, with the following being an alternative. Not sure about the change of hair colour though.
On to next week, I need to make significant progress on animating the repeatable lewd scenes. Once I have a few of these incorporated into my working game, I will also tweak the current interactive interface. This will tweak the interface used for the repeatable Lia scenes. My current plan is to simplify it a little and reduce the number of alternatives for each lewd act. Hence rather than having several tweaks (eg. hand positions) on the same lewd action, I will instead have a greater range of lewd acts. I will attempt to keep the interface portion as small as possible and use text rather than symbols to describe the lewd act. This should reduce some confusion and also reduce the time required to create. Depending on how progress goes, I hope to be able to post some in game screens of this revised interface next week.
Thanks for the support,
