Progress Report - August 15, 2022
🕑 Added 2022-08-16 06:36:15 +0000 UTCHello, everyone!
Not much to report, unfortunately. Hasn't been a terribly productive week, as I was out of town this weekend. Two of my work days (Friday and Sunday) were burned on that weekend, and then today (another work week) was mostly burned dealing with some technical issues involving my rendering machine.
I've finally gotten the render machine up and running again, but it pretty much took all day to get to this point. This week's image is actually fresh off the rendering machine!
With any luck, this week will finally see all of the renders get finished, as I can now render all throughout the day on the rendering machine, and then double up the renders at night by having my main machine render whilst I sleep.
In other news, I'm still exploring on-stream projects to alternate the Frozen project with. I won't lie, I am contemplating freezing (heh) the Frozen project, on account of the absurd render times, and shift gears to a different, more feasible project. Still need to figure out what that would be, though. Right now, I'm leaning toward something with tentacles. I just don't know who to use in it.
I am also exploring the next batch of minivids. I've got a few ideas sighted, though I'm not ready to pull the trigger on any as of yet. As we're now sliding into the middle third of August, with the latter third approaching, I am starting to get annoyed with how long Overbreed Episode 0 is taking to get done. The original goal was to have it ready by August 1, so it can snugly take the place of the August minivid.
By the time September 1 rolls around, I need to pull the trigger on a minivid and get it made. I want to have a minivid ready for voicing by September 8, and ready for sound design by September 15, so it will be ready to drop October 1.
We'll have to see how things fall out.
That's all for now. Again, hopefully next week I'll actually have something more substantial to report. Also hopefully next week I'll have an update from my sound designer.
