Progress Report - November 8, 2022
🕑 Added 2022-11-09 08:53:32 +0000 UTCHowdy hello, everyone!
I'm making this Progress Report open to all Patrons (would make it Public but, as I've said before, Patreon gets hissy about NSFW artists making public posts - it makes their business partners nervous).
With the early-access release of the Gaige video last week, I've been taking the past week off. I intended to spend it working on things, but it just so happened that a friend of mine quit his job as a deckhand that very week, and so after weeks of pulling 6-day doubles, he found himself with a ton of free time and nothing to do with it. And so we ended up playing Wasteland 3 co-op pretty much non-stop this past week.
With the public release of the Gaige video yesterday, I am working on getting back to working on things. The next thing on the schedule is the Claire/Jill video, which is in the process of getting its non-dialogue lip-sync finished.
However, I've been doing some thinking on that front. I made an offhand comment on Twitter about how Ordagon made the remote control that Gaige uses back in 2016. Indeed, this Gaige x Deathtrap video has been kicking around as a script for over 5 years now. And I've wanted to cast Innie as Moxxie and Milly as Gaige since even before then.
There is one other project that I've been kicking around since 2016. I've revisited it a few times over the years, I'm pretty certain I've even brought it up a few times here. That project is Batcat, and it is another project that I've been wanting to cast Innie and Milly in since at least 2016. Indeed, it was originally an idea that Innie herself suggested, and I took and ran with. Last I discussed it with her, back in April 2022, she's still very much interested in it, if I can ever get it off the ground.
Over the past few months I've shared glimpses of work on the new Batgirl and Catwoman models. They've been extremely slow-going though, between a lot of technical problems (such as, most recently, somehow losing the original shape data for Selina, and having to rebuild her body from scratch) and the one-piece design of their outfits making variants a logistical challenge (Catwoman, for example, has 108 unique outfit meshes spread across 13 compiled models - so split due to technical imitations).
They are approaching the finish line, though, and I think I am going to take a week off from working on my animation projects to focus on them. I want to get Selina and Barbara built to a point where I can storyboard out the Batcat project. I don't know when I'll get around to animating it - it'll likely be after Blue Star Episode 4 - but I've had entire sequences burning in my brain for half a decade now, sometimes burning so bright that I literally lose hours of sleep over it. I need to get the ideas out of my head and onto a storyboard. I have to see how they actually unfold. I simply have to.
There are two other projects kicking around in my head that I want to focus on as well. One of them I've mentioned before, which is my Rebecca Chambers / Sherry Birkin idea, cleverly called Sherbecca. Specifically, I've been rebuilding Rebecca from the ground up with a high-poly face (same as Gaige; I actually used rebuilding Gaige's face mesh as a prototype for Rebecca) and 5 fully-functional outfits to release her with. So far I have 2 outfits built, with the third in the shop. I want to get Rebecca and those 5 outfits done and released.
The other project I've only teased once here. I wasn't ready to discuss it anymore, because more work had to be done on it. Well, I'm going to finally get some of that work done on it.
So, yeah, that's what I am going to be working on for the next week, maybe even two weeks. I'm taking a break from working on animation stuff, outside of the Saturday streams, to focus on these projects.
I hope the Gaige "minivid", which turned out being the 8th-longest video I've ever made (which, considering I've made 32 videos to date, is rather impressive) and longer than the non-minivid Overbreed Episode 0, bought me enough goodwill to take those two weeks off from working on the next, 22-minute video.
That's all for now. Until next time, everyone.
EDIT
Oh! I forgot to mention, I've been doing a November thing on Twitter. You know what that November thing is. You can keep up with it over on Twitter, or just check the comic gallery page every 24 hours for the next page.

Blue Star 1 and 2 where my intro into Mass Effect all the way back. After I stumbled across the 2 videos I began playing ME1 burned through all 3 games in under 2 month. Thank you for that great experience too.

Batgirl and Catwoman? Yes please. Thanks for the update; always appreciated. Looking forward to your upcoming projects, and especially when you return to the world of Blue Star; can't wait to see Miranda and Liara getting pushed deeper and deeper into depravity until they're both cock-craving xeno whores. ;)
