Progress Report - December 19, 2022
🕑 Added 2022-12-20 07:58:22 +0000 UTCHello, everyone!
I may or may not have forgot to write a Progress Report last week. I apologize for that.
The reason why I forgot about it, though, is because I've had a very... productively sideways two weeks. What do I mean by that?
"Sideways productivity" is what I use to refer to productivity toward anything that isn't my primary focus. It's making progress on things I shouldn't be making progress on. And boy howdy, does that summarize the past two weeks.
So, what all have I been productive on the past two weeks, exactly?
Well, in no particular order.....
I've put together a handful of new DOAFantasy outfits, as well as fully-faceposed character models for Tina and Nyotengu:
I've made stripper outfits for both Rebecca Chambers and DVa:
I finished up and released the cursed Mariah Carey Elizabeth outfit, which required completely rewriting one of my tools to facilitate:
I designed and put together two Star Wars OCs, Tela and Meeri (pink and green respectively). Note that their textures are still being worked on:
I experimented with using AI Motion-Capture to generate motion-capture data off videos of pole-dancing, and then decided that hand-keying is both faster and better. Click here to view full video:
I built a prototypical pipeline for exporting SFM animations into other programs, like 3dsMax or Blender. Click here to view full video:
I experimented with using 3dsmax IK splines to animate tentacles (140 bones being controlled by 5 control points). Click here to view full video:
I wrote, storyboarded, and abandoned several project ideas. I've attached the storyboard videos to the bottom of this post, for those interested. I am currently working on the last one, the first two are both abandoned and will not be developed:
I've finally finished up Honoka's and Marie's wedding dresses, for their side-story within the greater DOAFACU. I am infinitely amused by the idea of Marie being a bride at a lesbian wedding wearing a "cumslut" collar.
I've mentally drafted out a four-sequence Nyotengu / Tina DOAFACU video, with the first two sequences drafted out. The full draft is attached as a text file to the bottom of the post.
> Tina finishes a day filming for a mainstream Western film.
> Tina asks the director what he thinks of her suggestion for a scene to be added. He rejects her suggestion on the basis of it being pornography. Tina asks how it's porn, that it raises the stakes for her character of Jane Boulders. As examples, he begins reciting a few excerpts from her submitted manuscript. Each of these quickly fall off to a visual representation of the scene described:
> Tina worshipping cock. She comments on how she may have the biggest guns in the west, but his meat-magnum is a force to reckon with.
> Tina titfucking. She makes some pun related to her tits and boulders it's 4am I'm tired and can't think of anything.
> ....
And I think that's everything I've done in the past two weeks that has been actually documented.
As you can see, it's been very productive. I've done a lot of stuff over the past 2 weeks. A lot of model-work, a lot of writing, a fair bit of programming, a good chunk of experimenting, and even a bit of animating.
But, you might notice one very important aspect missing from this very impressive portfolio of work. Something that, one would argue, belongs to be here more than anything else. Something that, I think rather uncontroversially, would be considered the singular main focus that I should be working on.
I didn't make any progress on Claire/Jill. At all. None. Zero. It hasn't even been loaded in the past 2 weeks.
That, my friends, is why I say the past 2 weeks have been productively sideways. A lot of stuff got done that shouldn't have been worked on. None of the stuff that should have been worked on did get done.
I'm hoping to get back on the Claire/Jill train tomorrow. It's at least at a good, natural resting point, being fully voiced and lip-synced, currently sitting with my sound designer to do his magic. But I still need to get the video done.
So, yeah. My undiagnosed ADHD was especially squirrelly these past two weeks. Lots of good stuff came out of it, but nothing that people were actually looking forward to. I apologize for that, and I hope the work I did get done at least entertains you in some way.
Hopefully the squirrels will be well-fed and sedated in the days to come, and I can actually make some forward progress this week, as opposed to more sideways progress...
Until next week, everyone!

Productive indeed. The models for DOA and others are looking good. Thanks for the update.
