Final version OUT NOW: “Finding Hope in Kentucky Route Zero’s Boundless Decay”
🕑 Added 2021-08-07 02:48:04 +0000 UTCAfter some technical issues, my Kentucky Route Zero video is here for real! A video about finding joy & community in a world that’s trying to force you out.
Really hope you all enjoy this one. I wrote it to be as newcomer/non-gamer-friendly as possible, so you can enjoy this video even if you’ve never heard of Kentucky Route Zero (though I highly recommend getting the game, obviously).
Patron-exclusive bonus video coming as soon as I can finish it - probably not for a couple weeks, but hey, definitely less than 3 months!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Ah man, thanks so much. The game is pretty figurative & abstract, so distilling its vibe was a fun challenge. I was especially happy with the last section, too :)

sorry for the delay, just finished the video! amazing, amazing job. i’ve never played Kentucky, but you presented all the ideas they explore in such a clear, collected way. its easy to see how someone can really get pulled into the gameplay. i especially loved the ‘Agonal Breaths’ section of your analysis. you really have a talent for these video essays!
