I would imagine he stays in the comfort of fellow Jews because if he stepped out into the rest of NJ and smacked his lips about this lunacy he'd be laughed all the way back to Lakewood. This probably already took place which is why he's hung up on the mockery.

Schmuel is right about the flat earth as is easily demonstrated by applying the theory of relativity as I can prove with simple observation (i.e. science). As I sit on my deck, and OBSERVE, I see that the earth is relatively flat. I don't observe any curvature!

I tried 1+1-1 in email and it didn't work. But at least he understands what it means... I can only imagine 1(1+1) would fly further over his head.

I think his 1 clay ball +1 clay ball argument would best be represented as 1+1=1(1+1), showing that the new clay ball is comprised of the 2 other balls. I know this contains multiplication, which might just go over his head. Although, I could see him completely confused as to why you would say combining the clay balls would be -1 clay balls since you aren't removing any material and completely missing the point. If he isn't cognitive enough to realize why 1+1=1 is false, then I doubt explaining 1+1=1(1+1) or that he is actually doing 1+1-1=1 will help.

Shmeul's "1+1" argument is kind-of the opposite of the argument that numbers and the rules of mathematics exist necessarily, outside of space and time (due to Platonic Realism), and if the rules of mathematics can exist necessarily, then God can exist necessarily. Shmeul argues that the rules of mathematics don't even exist, let alone necessarily. This undermines the above argument for the existence of God.
