early 2017: darius CD collection
🕑 Added 2016-12-14 08:03:20 +0000 UTC so much for the last post of 2016, right? sometimes you just get the itch.anyways: what it says on the tin! ERGOSPHERE and caractere difficile are getting beautiful CD releases to match with FRAMEDRAG's second print run - it's also getting another run. but there's more to it: ERGOSPHERE and caractere difficile got brand new masters. the stereo field is a bit wider, the bass frequencies are rounded out, the highs are really opened up, and the dynamic range has been restored quite a bit overall - and they're mastered to tape, of course. i think you'll find that they sound awesome. if you check the post, i've attached an MP3 (and a FLAC) of demos of the old vs new versions. most people probably won't hear much of a difference but it's night and day to me! i would like to get some kind of box or at least cardboard band made to hold these together, but that's gonna be tricky in a short run like this. you'll be able to pick up all 3 for $30 as it stands, unless a box or band to hold them together really drives up the production cost.
i will also probably be putting out a physical copy of B-SIDE U 2016, both volumes across two discs. sound cool?
i'll probably be placing the orders for these some time in january, which is when preorders for that awesome bandetto vinyl will also go up.
♥
PS: this will mark the end of the LF catalog numbering system and mark the beginning of the HL system! i'm going to try to keep things matched up nicely in terms of using the border on all CD releases, amongst other things that will just look awesome when they're all together! cassettes will move over to the HL numbers as well. i figure it's about time for that.

That swirling background artwork on the discs is fascinating, what's it from?

Maybe like a sleeve would work with darius art on it, stuff for like dvd boxsets? Id buy that asap.
oh hell yeah, the merch itch continues. I've been personally hoping for a dual release for B-SIDE U: 2016 so I'm really glad to hear that's likely to happen EDIT: oh you got rid of the title on Ergosphere's cover?

Oh gosh I'm so excited for this one. I wonder, if you do get the sleeve made, any chance you could sign it as well please? That would just be the cherry on top.

I'm so excited for this, I really got into Darius this year after FRAMEDRAG was released and the fact that they'll all be matching is gr8.
