huh that's quite an interesting fact. listened to a krog m1 video a bit on youtube and quite a few of those sounds reminds me of different games like super mario rpg, pokemon mystery dungeon on ds, and paper mario ttyd. does shows how popular it was back then! thanks for the direction!

not a set of samples so much as an era of devices - roland and korg romplers in particular showed up in everything, and the roland sc-55 is the basis for the microsoft midi sample set you hear today. look up some clips of the roland sound canvas and korg m1 & wavestation to get an idea of what i mean, i'm sure a lot of the sounds will be familiar to you
