Flashback (2020)
🕑 Added 2024-01-23 00:19:39 +0000 UTCThomas analyzes a 2020 sci-fi mystery that contains some of his biggest preoccupations, including the traumatized divine child, hobo symbolism, and immersion into the Great Mother. Christopher MacBride's follow-up to The Conspiracy (2012), Flashback is full of typically trite psychedelic philosophizing, but takes a somewhat unusual approach to its gnostic themes. By simultaneously venerating two seemingly opposed manifestations of the divine feminine, the film becomes helpful for diagnosing some contemporary spiritual pathologies.
