US has to gamble on that: China cannot challenge effectively while Trump is revising the global structure. But if say PRC's AI somehow grows tremendously, quite another story.

The tariff can curtail Chinese business access to US and slow down their growth. But China has built up industry base from simple product to high complexity goods like ship, airplane. They can sell them with lower profit to at a loss. The US will have to compete world wide . The only indisputable lead is US $, which would be weaken over time if the underline industry or service continue to lose its lead. Tesla, apple, already see tough competition . Boeing , Nvidia , competion will come in time. Deepseek is prime example. Intel seems to be another example that US cannot get back to be competitive. Not sure how tariff help these fundamental challenge
