It is probably a better idea to support policies rather than politicians, because being held responsible for everything another person does is a bad idea, particularly if you think the person is going to make an increasing portion of your customers unhappy each passing day. I think this is what Elon is finding out. When you are hostage to the whims of capital markets — that is, you become the wealthiest person in the world by leveraging up, doubling down your chips each time, and then the whole thing collapses if your collateral shrinks, at some point you need to make a loud declaration that I have nothing to do with the other person, for better or worse. Fearful of retaliation, generally business leaders have been quiet regarding some of the nonsensical, high impact economic policies, so in this sense I am supportive of the specific act of people speaking out. Who could be in a better position to do this job?
