Hive City Heat New Enemy Reveal: Brood-Born Brawler Joins the Fight!

Big update from the dev cave today—we’ve just added a new enemy character to the beat 'em up project, and hoo boy, he’s weird, punchy, and probably needs a hug (but you'll be too busy dodging uppercuts).
Introducing the Brood-Born Brawler, our twisted little love letter to the Genestealer Cult’s Brood Brothers. You know the type: slightly mutated, dead-eyed, suspiciously devout, and way too eager to start a fight over space fungus and hive loyalty.
These guys aren’t just another bald clone either—we’ve added color variations to keep things fresh and chaotic! You’ll spot them in all kinds of unsettling skin tones
We call it the "Freaky Fruit Salad" look. Delicious!
Right now, the Brood-Born fight barehanded, like real sweaty zealots. They're all fists, flailing limbs, and creepy culty enthusiasm. They’re basically what happens when you cross a mosh pit with a hive infection.
BUT—we do have plans to give them weapons in the future! Think improvised tools, mining gear, maybe the occasional alien relic that glows ominously. But we want to make sure their animations and combat patterns feel fun and balanced, so for now, they’re sticking to punching and cult-approved body slams.
We’re slowly building out a full enemy roster, and these Brood-Borns are one of the first steps toward giving you a real horde to beat the heresy out of. More types (and even weirder cult units) are coming soon. 👀
