I was not smart enough to realize what was happening which made the ending of this episode so much fun to watch.

I'm finally getting caught up! I think the secret to being sneaky is taking advantage of the fact that most people are oblivious. I watched a former KGB spy reacting to different spy scenes in shows and movies and he was talking about how it's best to do things where there are lots of people cause everyone is just concerned with themselves and no one is paying attention. Like Elizabeth leaving the FBI, why would someone think twice about someone walking out? If the person got inside, then they must have had the correct credentials. I don't think it's that Philip never saw Elizabeth with her shirt off so much as she likely gets abused in less unusual ways. Like hitting, choking, thrown around, etc. All of those things are easily attributed to her being in a physical confrontation which happens to them sometimes. Being whipped though leaves a very specific mark and also implies vulnerability and a lack of self-defense so I think that's the key part that set off Philip.
