9-1-1 4X4: 9-1-1, What's Your Grievance?

So Athena is trying to work a case with a woman who was murdered, and the whole cul de sac has motive. It turns out she shot herself, but one of the neighbors was being blackmailed by her, so she ended up in jail too. Fun.
But, in the important part of this episode (at least in my opinion), we finally get to meet Maddie and Buck's parents. They aren't as bad as I expected (although, they were described as not bad people, just bad parents), but mom was particularly condescending and passive aggressive to everyone. However, it seems clear that they care more about Maddie than they ever cared about Buck.
And what is this secret?!? We're getting closer to figuring it out. We now know that Maddie and Buck had a brother, Daniel. But he died. Do we think Buck somehow accidentally killed him as a child and doesn't remember and they are all trying to hide it from him to save him from heartache?
Also, it seems like Athena is overcoming whatever issue she had with May working at 9-1-1. And I love that, because I love May working at 9-1-1.

Thank you for that! I was afraid to look him up. I didn't want spoilers! But after watching just that one short of Oliver Stark, I was inundated with 9-1-1 stuff! I've gone on a 'do not show me this account spree.' Lol. Super excited to turn all that off once I'm caught up. I have a feeling this is gonna be a cast where I obsess over their online content!

Pretty sure I would never have figured it out on my own. Ooh, now I have to look up Albert with an Australia accent! OMG. That accent just sounds wrong coming out of his mouth! I'm just to used to him with an American accent. Ahhh!

That was really a shot in the dark after going all in on my adoption theory, but it seemed like that was too easy. I did not, for a single second consider that Maddie was his mother, but it totally seems like a logical guess now that you've mentioned it. OMG. I had no idea Oliver Stark was not American. I love that! Generally when we have Brits playing American I feel like they have such a low octave it's such a giveaway. I've never suspected that with him. I do love that I know this bit about him now. I'm gonna love his performances so much more now! Right?!? This was such a highlight episode for Chim! And I LOVED Albert running away. It was so unexpectedly delightful!

omg good job on guessing there was another brother! i remember the biggest fandom theory about the secret at the time was maddie being buck’s mom which the age gap isn’t THAT big like let’s try to be logical lol oliver stark (buck) was so good in that scene confronting his parents! i have watched it so many times. his accent slips through on a bit of it and for some reason it makes me love it even more. chimney had me laughing so much this episode. i love how much the show can inject levity and humor into these serious situations. him telling the bomber guy the secret to finally get it off his chest had me cackling. also albert just running off during the basketball game so chim couldn’t tell him 🤣
