"Score" is the phrase used to reference background music. Like in a film or TV show, there's licensed music (the soundtrack, which often includes songs written by bands and bought by the show), and score (short for "underscore" and it's the stuff the composer wrote specifically for the show. Basically, we have a whole lot of awesome underscore.
