There are so many things that happen in Yen's/Geralt's part of the timeline, that lead up to the invasion. Seeing how they all intertwined is great (love the "shitty backwater" call-back in this ep, as well).

This show takes place over 3 timelines. Currently Geralt and Yens are in the same timeline while Ciri is in the future.
