The NEW Parker 51 - Good as the old 51?

I hope this post finds you well. Some of you know that I am a fan of vintage Parker 51 fountain pens. When I learned that Parker was releasing an all-new 51, I decided to set aside a little here and there so that I could acquire one. I finally ordered one and am happy to show it to you in this video along with a couple of vintage examples.
I didn't come right out and say it in the video, but I was disappointed that the pen's color was darker than what I was expecting, but as it turns out, the color has grown on me to the point where I prefer it over the lighter color I thought I was getting based on the online photo.
I admit this pen was a splurge for me but I know I'm going to get a lot of enjoyment from the pen and pretty sure you'll see it play minor roles in future videos, even if you only catch a glimpse of it in the background.

One of these days, I would love to hear your βspilled fountain pen inkβ story that ruined your day! I hear your voice in my head reciting your warning every single time I fill a pen π€£ Oddly enough, I accidentally bumped a bottle enough to spill some not long ago. It was one of Noodlerβs βbulletproofβ inks on the surface of a 200-year-old wooden desk. After a 3-second panic attack, I was somehow able to clean up the mess without leaving ANY residual evidence on the desk. Either my desk is made from some magical wood, or Noodlerβs 54th Massachusetts isnβt actually bulletproof, or I just got darned lucky!
