Look if you had just torqued the tires right then the BMS wouldn't have been confused about the true state of the batteries. It is just that simple.

Muriatic acid is a great option for removing all the zinc coating from washers, bolts, etc. It works pretty quickly, too! Helps when you commonly grind off a bit of zinc to be safe, weld it to something, and then realize you need to weld more in an area where you didn't strip the zinc.
