Progress Report Week 34 / Changelog Sweet Affection 0.8.9
🕑 Added 2022-08-26 15:21:44 +0000 UTCFirst of all, I'm afraid that this is going to be another long post.
Second, you can find the change-log at the bottom of this post.
Third, I have some bad news, but I'll get to that in a bit.
Sweet Affection Update 0.8.9
Let's start with the good news first though.
All the work for the 0.8.9 update is finished and we started beta testing, today.
We already did some alpha testing because of the spy cams, yesterday.
Because of that, I'm sure that the rest of the testing will go pretty smoothly and
that I can begin making the builds on Sunday.
And, hopefully, start uploading them by Monday.
Meaning, that our 0.8.9 build will be released to Tier 3 on Tuesday the 30th.
My Wrist
Now, as for the bad news.
My wrist isn't getting any better and going ahead like this, it's unlikely that it will improve, any time soon.
You guys deserve 100% of my effort and I want to give you all that I can.
And, if I would know that my injury wouldn't get any worse, I would push through till December and then take some time off.
But, that is the thought that I've been struggling with the past couple of days.
Pushing through like this, it's painful and it would be hard.
But, I would do that for you guys, and the game.
However, the risk of my injury getting even worse and causing me to stop work completely would be even more horrible.
After talking with our fans on Discord and hearing their thoughts.
I decided that the smartest choice is to take care of my health, first.
There is still so much work ahead of us, so I have to think about the long-term.
So, I decided that I'm going to take two weeks off, starting today.
Two weeks where I'm going to give my wrist the rest that it needs, and start Physical Therapy to ensure it doesn't happen again.
And, I'd like to thank everyone that voted on the discord poll.
Seeing how many people care about my well-being, it means so incredibly much. :)
Sweet Affection Update 0.8.91
Now, what does that mean for the upcoming update?
We decided to postpone Sidney's planned content and move it to the 0.9.1 update.
We are still going to release an update with the planned M&S content, and I promise everyone that it will still be worth it.
We have something special planned for their dates after all. :)
But, I'll give more information about those events in another progress report, because this one is already getting quite long.
Nothing will change for the planned 0.9.0 update (The level-up event for M&S).
So, people don't have to worry about that.
I am really sorry if you were really looking forward to Sidney's new content.
I was looking forward to continuing her journey as well.
The only thing that I can promise now is to get better as soon as possible and
get back to delivering the content that you are used to from us.
If you have any questions or want to share your thoughts, you can always
reach us here on Patreon or Discord.
And, I want to say thank you again to all of you that gave me so much love and concern for my health.
We are all in this together. Me, the team, the fans.
And, I'm very proud to have you guys as our fans.

Thank you for being brave enough to say that you have to take care of your health, even if it slows down development (and if it does - so what!!) Your health is what allows you to create And to enjoy a full and complete life. No reasonable person has the right to ask you to sacrifice that for any work that you do (whether working on SA or trying to take care of non-essential home repairs, etc.) Best of luck with physical therapy!

Agree 100% health comes first. Rather wait a month extra than you pushing yourself and maybe even risk permanent damage to your wrist. Take care of yourself and we will wait for the awesome upcoming content.
