Summoning Ritual - Exclusive WIP Preview (Update #2)
🕑 Added 2021-02-21 15:20:01 +0000 UTCI'm still thinking about the circumstances that made Samantha end up in this state, but I must say I'm pretty happy with how it's turning up so far. What do you think? Are the ancient spirits of the land entering Samantha's womb to get another chance at life?
Theme: Samantha is mixed up in a fertility ritual and forced to carry extra babies.

Added a new version with blue lighting and some spirits! This was following some feedback for the previous version (second image). What are your thoughts on the changes?

So I can't seem to decide where to take this one. I've gone back to the more natural lighting but kept and tweaked the glowing aspects, as well as changing the scenery a little. Thoughts? (The previous version are still included for reference)

Yeah, I think the latest version is the way to go. The alternate color palette was a curious test, but in the end, it was a little out there hence why I reverted. And yes, the intent of the details in her belly is to portray the spirits/energy transforming into fiscal occupants. Thank you so much for your follow-up/feedback :D

This is more along the lines of what I envisioned. Looks good to me. More mystical and magical, which is what the characters imply. The added effects and altered positioning help. I think the red and blue colors were an interesting touch, but maybe a bit too much? Are you intending with the glow/shadow of her belly to allow the viewer to look inside of her belly at her baby/babies?

Hey G! Following the idea of the spirits, I do believe some visible representation should be included, so I will be looking into it. As for the glowing belly, well, it is already glowing, haha. Since it’s glowing red, the light of the fire is getting mixed up with it and making it hard to appreciate, so I don’t blame you for missing it. I will experiment with different colors with both the fire and the belly to make it more visible. Maybe the fire should be blue to represent the cold spirits, and her belly remain red to represent the warm life? I also agree with the glowing of the shaman’s hands, so I’ll be implementing it. Expression-wise, she’s currently in a mix of shocked/scared, but I can also see how she could be enjoying it (though she’s being forced to do it). As for the story, I’m not sure what to do really, this is so out there that I don’t know how to fit it. Real question is, should I make this part of her story officially, or should it only be a one-off thing similar to a dream caused by a trance? And as always, thank you for your enthusiasm and feedback :)

Interesting idea. If the spirits are entering her, could you incorporate some sort of effect on her belly? Either glowing or a portion of the spirit/soul entering? Another emerging from the fire? If you would so that, the options for facial expressions could change. Is she angry? Scared? Enjoying it? If the shaman behind her is responsible, perhaps his hands could be glowing too? As far as a backstory, maybe her boyfriend is part of this tribe in some way?
