.: Update Journal :.
🕑 Added 2022-07-08 14:59:32 +0000 UTCIt's been some time since my last public update journal. So, I thought that it would be a good time for another one.
I'm still dealing with the backlog that I owe my commissioners. And I apologize for the extended wait time. I just wanted to explain why this is occurring.
It wasn't until recently when I opened up single character commissions that I realized I was underselling my artwork. I have seen the amount of work I have taken in, compared to the amount of work that I'm completing. On the first day, I got everything done but it took 13 hours. That is not a viable business model working every week. Noticing how this workload was supposed to be lighter and still causing me problems, I saw that other commissions were being pushed down to make room for new ones. This is the cause of the backlog.
Why am I underselling my artwork when it's worth enough to make a living off of? I link it to my self-worth issues. I see amazing artwork every day. It's very inspiring but also disheartening. Because I think about how I can't do that, or I could do that but it would take too long to complete. So I price my artwork with what I feel reflects the market. But I have been doing this for years without thinking about the toll it would take on me. And how it affects my commissioners as well. I'm going to be taking on just sketch commissions for the foreseeable future while I work out my prices and commission tiers. Because I have made my current price listings with what I feel is reflected in the public market. What I should have done is what I am comfortable doing in a sustainable period.
I am so sorry for the gross negligence that I have accumulated these last two to three years. It was never my intention and I was going with the current knowledge I had at the time. I am sorry that I am making so many other people pay for that.
If you have any questions, feel free to either email me or DM me on discord and I will get to your messages as soon as I can.
These journals are never fun for me. I don't want to waste people's time so I try to be as concise as I can. But I hope that this helps to bring more of a light on why things have been happening the way they have.
I hope you all have a great weekend and thank you for taking the time to read my journal.
