October project teasers
🕑 Added 2018-09-10 06:33:17 +0000 UTC I'm here to throw a few ~mysterious WIPs~ your way to show you what my month is going to be dedicated to! (and hopefully these gifs will play without a problem hshdsj)
The above gifs are from one of two projects I have planned for Halloween/October, and both are pretty labor-intensive, hence why I'm starting them so early in September! I'm posting these WIPs here to hopefully keep myself motivated in finishing them since their existence is now semi-public knowledge.
The video is about a minute in length, filled with weird codes and imagery, and may or may not involve aliens. Most of it will be cryptic drawn/graphic design stuff, but there are one or two real life exceptions!
The second project also has a loooot of work ahead of it, but it's currently titled The Legend(s) of Violet Woods. It's going to be a small bestiary-like catalogue --all done in pixel art -- showing off the cryptids and urban legends that haunt a fictional, rural pennsylvanian town. I'm thinking of displaying them on almost playing card-like backgrounds, with a small blurb that accompanies each.
The characters come from either nightmares I've had (like noodle-legs mcgee down there), designs based on other urban legends, or completely made up things. I plan to post one a day (to twitter) in the second half of October, all leading up to Jack Pyre (Mr pumpkin head below) on October 31st! In total, I plan for there to be about 15-20 of these guys.
I'll be giving you guys The Scoop on WIPs and the finished products for these things, so I hope you look forward to more updates 👌
