Weekly Update (11/17/17) -- Hunterborn and the BCO continued
🕑 Added 2017-11-17 19:35:25 +0000 UTC Hello my loves. I hope you all had a wonderful week, and thank you for joining me today. As always, please offer a warm welcome to our newest Patrons:
- Vida Fleetwood
- Viral Architect
- Yamnyak King
Today's update will be very short, since we spent most of this week making arrangements for my grandfather's funeral. The service took place yesterday, and it was a very sweet sendoff for a very beloved man.
My Ultimate Skyrim work for the week was fairly boilerplate. Alongside the Big Crafting Overhaul, we continue to patch/integrate Hunterborn. This task has been much easier thanks to the excellent (and recently updated) Requiem Survival Experience patch by UnmeiX, and I'm very excited for you guys to experience the new Hunterborn gameplay.\
Some features worth looking forward to:
- HB's primitive cooking ability has been expanded with recipes from all the other mods in US's lineup. Generally speaking: if a recipe calls for only one ingredient, you can cook it at any fire in the game. This is great for when your character is hungry, but you don't have a cooking pot on hand. (Cooking pots are still required for more complex recipes.)
- Making a living as a hunter will be much more viable, thanks to increased values for many hunting spoils. These items are also affected by Hunterborn's progression system, so practicing your Hunting/trapping will yield even more valuable pelts and ingredients.
- Many ingredient and food effects have been edited for increased usefulness and better balance for Requiem.
I'd like to leave you with my sincerest thanks for your steadfast support, and if any of you are interested, I've also attached a brief video I prepared for my grandfather's funeral. I thought it an appropriate sendoff for a man I loved very much.
You can view the video here.
Much love,
BB

Thanks for the info McGuire. I've actually been looking into HiS quite a bit, and discovered a lot of the unfinished features you mention. For this reason, I plan on a very limited implementation of HiS, if we use it at all. As for the MCM business, there's still no way unfortunately. That's why I'm also focused on providing alternative enjoyable death consequences for non-DiD characters, to give death some impact while true permadeath is still such a pain. (all that said: you shouldn't have any issues with player stats if you swap your race before Requiem runs its scripts.)
I’m sure you are already aware of this but just in case you aren’t. HIS is obviously still in development, but it’s most current version (2.0 Beta 1.5) has changed a great deal. There is no longer a guild outpost in a basement of the drunken Huntsman in Whiterun. It has been replaced by the Bearclaw Lodge in Falkreath. It’s functions as well as HIS’s questseline seems drastically changed/broken at the moment. I’m still looking into it more. Of corse it is still a great addition to HB (due to the skinned animal feature.) but in its current state it is my recommendation to include it but not activate it in US at the moment. This gets the lovely skinned animals and the very nice, albeit incomplete, hunting lodge without the incompleteness of the eat of the mod. As always looking forward to US 4.0. And absolutely loving US as it is currently. Still cannot believe how well it is running on my mediocre system. So worth the time it took to set it up. Really wish there was a better way to handle all the MCM settings. Is there no way for you to patch in all the settings so they would be the default when playing US? It is my understanding that if you make a template start and use showracemenu command you run into inconsistency’s in character attributes if you change the race of the player. Or am I wrong about that?
