His wife dealt with this because it's the 50s and she has 2 kids and no where to go. It's not 2024. Women were dependent on men back then. Cmon man is a different time. Also when she said don't bring the road into her house she was referring to the drugs. But she didn't want him to start lying to her about that and what he does on the road. She use to sing and tour and saw what people did on the road. It was just a different time back then. This is why womens rights came to be. If Women were to dependent on men, then men could treat you any kind of way and it was very little you could do about. And she did love him. That played a part as well. Love is hard to shake.
