Nope only in the same heya (stable), the naming convention for their stable has a preference for a name that starts with Koto. Kotoshoho has a younger brother in the same stable with the ringname Kototebakari, who is fighting to get to Juryo!

I also thought that the winner has often become more 'polite' over the years that I have been watching sumo as far as helping the loser who fell out of the ring....
