1. "Don't get your hopes up"
I started dating my college senior, who I'd always gotten along with well. Today is the first time I'm visiting her place.
She's cool and good-looking, but hates anything unnecessary and absolutely refuses to deal with hassle—she's a rationalist, to put it nicely. So I thought her place would only have the bare minimum.
But in reality, it was surprisingly lived-in. The kitchen in particular was clearly well-used, showing she cooked frequently, and she had a full set of cooking utensils.
When she noticed me looking back and forth between the kitchen and her, she let out a short sigh, then said with an exaggeratedly annoyed gesture while blushing:
"I can make simple stuff, but... don't get your hopes up"

2. "We're closed, so it's fine, right?"
A few months since becoming a bartender.
I took the job partly out of admiration, thinking "that's cool," and partly—embarrassingly—with a casual attitude of "I could probably handle this." But reality was completely different. It's far deeper than I thought, and every day I struggle desperately to improve even a little.
Today too, when I returned to the bar to practice after hours, my senior—who should have left earlier—was standing alone at the counter.
"You're working hard again... that's admirable"
Her voice carried a hint of exasperation rather than genuine praise. She's talented, beautiful, and loved by both the manager and customers. Someone like me, a struggling newcomer spinning my wheels, probably can't even imagine what that's like.
She sat down on a stool as if it were the most natural thing and poured whiskey into a glass. The amber liquid swirled in the glass, catching the light and glowing softly.
"Is it okay to just drink like that? I got permission from the manager..."
"We're closed, so it's fine, right?"
It didn't quite seem like that was the point, but arguing felt pointless, so I kept quiet.
Her revealing casual clothes came into view, and I instinctively looked away. I need to focus. This isn't the time to be thinking about other things.

3. I wonder if it's okay to talk to her...
Walking through the city at night with nothing particular to do, I noticed a beautiful woman leaning against a wall, apparently waiting for someone. Her presence stood out so much that it seemed like that spot alone had an unusually stylish atmosphere.
Thinking it wouldn't be good to stare too much, I left the area once. But I couldn't help being curious, and when I walked down the same street again, she was still standing there.
Could she be waiting for someone to approach her? If I'm wrong, I'll be totally embarrassed, but if I just walk past without doing anything, I'll definitely regret it. Should I take the plunge and try talking to her?
