Never like using game names to decribe a genre. Metroidvania doesn’t explain anything to anyone who doesn’t know what those games are. Search Action is the best one I’ve heard and I always actively use it for these types of games

I think I've heard the term platform exploration for these types of games. I should pick up this game again it's a lot of fun.
