The surviving z fighter's on the other hand had a whole another thing coming.
"Krillin!"
Goku stopped mid rush, his face had an angry look to it watching his best friend get absorbed.
They had no idea Buu could warp like that, one second Buu was out of the game and knocked out cold, the next second he had melted into goo and trapped Krillin.
"His Ki just vanished, be careful Goku."
Piccolo readied himself and cautiously warned Goku, Buu was weird and had a lot of odd abilities.
This move was totally out of their expectations.
It was obvious they needed more information about their opponent, this mistake was far too serious and must not be made again.
"I know Piccolo!"
Goku uncharacteristically snapped, he was seriously angry at Buu for backstabbing Krillin like that.
Krillin was clearly stronger than Buu, he had beaten him in a fair and square way.
Buu throwing all that away and just killing Krillin in the blink of an eye was not cool.
Goku was not happy.
*Wiggle*
But did Goku's anger really matter to Buu?
Buu's goo like wiggling form had no reaction to Goku's presense, he was doing his own thing without a care, that was enough to answer the question.
Buu didn't care about Goku or anyone standing here at all, he was solely focused on digestion.
He was digesting a new kind of power he felt from this guy named Krillin.
Though this wanton disregard for his opponents didn't go unnoticed.
"What's he doing? Is Krillin still inside of him?"
Tien thought while observing Buu, he was much more calm compared to Goku who had just lost his best friend, he was analysing the situation in a rational way.
And Tien's analysis was right on the nose, everyone including Goku weren't attacking Buu right away because they weren't sure if Krillin and Yamcha were still inside there or not.
So even though Buu was but a glob of goo right now, as if trying to form into a new shape, they were stuck.
What if they kill Yamcha and Krillin by accident and lose the opportunity to save them.
*Wiggle*
*Poof!*
Although their hesitations were solved by Buu himself, soon his glob like figure stabilized and with a puff of smoke, a new Buu emerged from within.
"What-What happened to him?"
Asked Nappa in a wary tone, after the trick he just pulled Buu was looking slightly different.
There wasn't too much difference in Buu's appearance, just the six circular incense marks on his forehead was what Nappa was concentrating on.
"That's that bald guy's marks."
"I can't sense Buu any longer just like that guy too, something has changed with Buu."
"You there, you better spill what you know."
Vegeta twitched his eyebrows and questioned Kibito, he was standing beside him and he could see Kibito visibly backed away when Buu took on a new form.
He must know something.
Kibito who was questioned also thought of the job given to him by Supreme Kai and forcibly calmed himself.
Although they had briefly mentioned Buu's abilities a while back, it was just a rough explanation.
They didn't have much time left for thorough preparations back then.
But Kibito knew the z fighters had to know about this ability in detail now, or they might lose more warriors.
"He has evolved.."
"This is the most potent ability of Buu, he can absorb anything and evolve accordingly."
"He then takes on the characteristics of anyone he absorbs along with their powers."
"He should have taken the human named Krillin's strength and added it to himself."
Kibito wryly looked at the new Buu who was standing still as if getting used to his new abilities.
He couldn't help but feel it was a kind of mockery towards them, but this thankfully gave them the time to plan.
"Wait, he gets all of the absorbed abilities? So that's why we can't sense him anymore!"
"Dosen't that mean he has mister Krillin's strength and his infinite energy on top of his original powers?!"
Gohan being the academic guy of z fighters instantly understood the trickiest part of this ability.
Absorbing Krillin gave Buu all of Krillin's strength.
Their inability to sense Buu was bad enough, on top of that he has Krillin's unlimited energy too.
This just went from bad to worse because of one small error.
"What?! Infinite energy?! That earthling had infinite energy!?"
"By the lord of lords!"
"Do you know what a grave blunder this is! The only way to slow Buu down was to tire him out!"
"And you are telling me he has infinite energy!"
Kibito exclaimed with remorse, if he had known that earthling named Krillin had such abilities he would never have brought him anywhere close to Buu.
And why did Buu absorb him of all people, anyone else wouldn't have been nearly as much of an issue.
It's as if fate itself wanted to kill them.
"We are doomed.."
Kibito sat down on the ground, completely defeated, he kept on repeating the same sentence again and again like a broken record.
He couldn't even bring up the courage to attack Buu any longer, even if Buu was standing right there.
*Snap*
But the sudden sharp pain on his cheek jolted him out of his hollow eyed state.
Touching his cheek he felt a hot pain.
He was slapped.
"Pathetic, just pathetic, you can't even bring yourself to face him when he is standing still."
"And you call yourself a god, get lost, we don't need weaklings like you here."
Vegeta spat at Kibito, and instantly powered upto a Super Saiyan.
"Kakarot, you heard him, that guy is dead, don't wait any longer."
Goku frowned, he was a little bit unsure if Krillin was truly dead, but the battlefield didn't give him anymore time to think.
He had a decision to make.
"Got it Vegeta, Gohan, take care of Kibito."
"Let's go!"
*Whooosh*
Goku also transformed into Super Saiyan two, he had heard Kibito say the current Buu was previous Buu+Android Krillin.
If so Super Saiyan two was certainly not enough to defeat him, but Goku would like to experience it himself first.
He can try and go beyond Super Saiyan two, this was a trump card he unlocked when he went to visit Chichi in the otherworld.
But it burns through ki extremely quickly, he didn't want to whip it out without understanding Buu's unnatural fighting style.
This will only result in his defeat.
"Hmm?"
When the z fighters decided to attack Buu all at once, he finally paid attention.
His narrow eyes stared at everyone and then fixed itself on Goku.
This was the guy who was yelling at himself a while ago.
*Glare*
Opening his eyes in a slit, Buu's vicious pupils stared directly at Goku.
And then suddenly, he grinned.
*Swish*
"Be careful dad!"
Almost as soon as Gohan's warning rang Buu's figure flashed before Goku.
Goku's face was serious and he swiftly defended against Buu's punch.
*BANG*
But the extraordinary strength behind it caught him off guard.
"Crap!"
Goku's body ragdolled backwards, he was hitting the ground and bouncing back again and again.
This was such a high powered hit his arms were still hurting from blocking it.
"You are Goku..?"
"You should die."
Buu's sudden increase in vocabulary went unnoticed noticed by majority of the z fighters except Gohan, who alone caught onto it.
Everyone else was solely focused on the fight.
They were a bit too busy trying to stop Buu from chasing after Goku.
"Hmm? You want to play with Buu too?"
All of the z fighters flashing before him in a battle state made Buu stop, before he once more smiled eerily and pounced upon Piccolo.
It's been a long time since he had his greens.
