Let's talk about that little label on the back of your favorite food!
For many people, the nutrition facts label can be very overwhelming. Understanding the format and values can help with some of the anxiety you may experience.
Nani and I created this infograph to try and help explain some of the information on these food labels.
Remember, these are values and references based off of an average 2,000 calorie diet. So the percent daily value will change slightly depending on your specific calorie goal as well as your individual macro distributions.
For example, the 8g of protein in the nutrition label above may be 16% of one person's protein goal, but only 5% of somebody with a different protein intake preference.
Don't fixate too much on the % daily values as these are extremely vague references and not the same for everybody.
Instead, learn what a serving size looks like and how many calories and macros are in each serving. This will help you as you progress on your journey.
