I love this vibe, I love how hopeful your work manages to be even when the characters are grappling with feeling hopeless. If the Order can face the end of the world and stand up and do something, I can face unpleasant things in my community and do something. It’d be nice to have literal magic to help, but friendship and fellowship have a magic of their own. Also if Camille Ochre hesitates too long picking her name, someone’s going to get Millie to stick.

I loved how James's commentary on the apocalypse was a constant backdrop to the party. It was a really good hint of hopelessness that led into his conversation with Alanna perfectly.
