The rubics cube project
🕑 Added 2019-09-02 11:13:39 +0000 UTCYou might remember that this was something I worked on.
The only thing left was to create an algorithm to actually solve the cube. But I think - even though it is still interesting - the solving algorithm doesn't offer alot of value to the houdini user.
For you guys it is alot more interesting how the object was build, the rotation works and most importantly how it is possible to chain the cube movements and let a solver play the animation.
Since I do want to concentrate on finalizing the long overdue Railsystem I have to see if this will just queue up or is done in between. That also depends on your feedback.
But this is the idea for this and future projects
- a finished series is summarized in a quick and dirty youtube breakdown
(Kind of like the blender user Ian Hubert with his "Lazy Tutorials" - it is a great and fun format in my opinion)
- then there will be the patreon videos with a more detailed approach but I still try to make it in a way that is not boring to watch and goes right to the essential points
- if it makes sense I create a tool that makes use the overall idea - in terms of the cube - the array oriented animation process.
Video and tool will take their way through Auditorium and Dev Team but will end up on the 2nd tier as usual.
For those people that don't want to deal with subscriptions I offer them the gumroad option later down the road.
So who needs to do some chained animations? ;-)
