Adam has mixed and mastered these performances and thrown little soundbites in between a lot of the tracks. Most of you are aware that these Halloween Parties are incredibly loose. We typically don't rehearse ahead of time, throw things at the wall and drink a lot more than we usually do. But every once in a while, we knock it out of the park (for at least a few seconds at a time). I think this came together really well and I enjoyed listening back to these performances. Standouts for me are Morning Star, Stairwell, Gremlin Man and All Shook Up. Maybe its because we don't play those ones as often.
He compiled another playlist with some of the sillier stuff as well (Mambo #5, Smooth Fall Time, etc).
In other news, I'm three songs deep in my next collection of more serious songs. Two of them feel like the inverse of Swords, opposite yet complimentary. The yin to its yang. The third one feels more like something in between Heart of Mold and Etc. - very simple and sincere. I know its too early to call but it feels like this collection is shaping up to be my most personal work yet. I'm really excited to see how it all comes together. Can't wait to share.
