My Crossdress up Darling Ch 7 : The Convention
🕑 Added 2024-10-14 03:53:08 +0000 UTCSteve and Lily finally arrived at the convention, it felt like they had stepped into another world—a world straight out of the pages of a Japanese anime. The convention center was filled with vibrant colors, loud music, and an overwhelming sense of excitement. Everywhere Steve looked, he saw people dressed in elaborate costumes, bringing characters from all his favorite anime series to life.
There were cosplayers from Naruto—some dressed as Naruto himself, others as Sasuke, Kakashi, or Sakura. He spotted someone dressed as Luffy from One Piece, holding a straw hat high in the air, laughing with a group of other One Piece characters. There were costumes from anime Steve couldn’t even recognize—wildly colorful outfits, giant props, and intricate details that made the entire scene feel surreal.
Steve stood in awe, unable to speak. The sheer scale of the convention and the number of people in costume left him stunned. He could feel the energy of the place, and for a moment, he forgot all about his nerves.
Lily, however, was still in full Shaoran mode, completely comfortable in her costume as she tugged at Steve’s arm. “Come on, Sakura!” she teased, pulling him along through the crowd. “We need to get to the character checkpoint.”
Steve blinked, snapping out of his daze. “The... character checkpoint? What’s that?”
Lily smiled, her eyes bright with excitement. “It’s where all the cosplayers register for the cosplay walk! It’s like a parade where everyone shows off their costumes. Plus, we’ll meet a bunch of other cosplayers while we’re there. It’s one of the best parts of the con!”
Steve felt a knot of nervousness in his stomach again, but he trusted Lily, so he nodded. “O-okay... lead the way, I guess.”
Lily gave him an encouraging smile, her confidence contagious. “Don’t worry, Steve. You’re going to love it. Just follow my lead.”
With that, Lily pulled him through the bustling convention center, weaving between cosplayers and fans alike. Everywhere they went, people were taking photos, laughing, and showing off their detailed costumes. The atmosphere was electric, and despite his lingering embarrassment, Steve couldn’t help but feel a bit excited himself.
As they made their way to the character checkpoint, Steve caught glimpses of even more elaborate costumes. Someone dressed as a giant mecha character from Gundam towered over the crowd, and he saw a group of Attack on Titan cosplayers, complete with 3D maneuver gear strapped to their bodies. It was like stepping into a living, breathing anime world.
“This place is... incredible,” Steve murmured, still taking it all in.
Lily smiled at him, her excitement evident. “I know, right? It’s like walking into a dream. And trust me, once we get to the checkpoint, it’s going to get even better.”
Steve nodded, still feeling a bit out of place but more at ease with every step. He could tell that, despite the nerves, this was going to be a day he’d never forget.
They finally arrived at the character checkpoint, a large desk set up with registration forms and staff members organizing the cosplayers. A long queue snaked around the area, filled with people dressed as their favorite characters from all kinds of anime, manga, and video games. Steve was still processing everything—the costumes, the energy, the sheer number of people in line waiting to register for the cosplay walk.
As they waited in line, a cheerful voice called out from behind them. “Lily! Is that you?”
Steve and Lily turned around, and Steve saw a girl dressed in a stunning yellow gown—a perfect replica of Belle’s dress from Beauty and the Beast. The girl’s face lit up with excitement as she walked over to them. “Lily, it’s been ages!” she said, her voice filled with warmth.
Lily’s face brightened as she waved. “Angela! Wow, you look amazing. That Belle dress is beautiful.”
Angela blushed a little, clearly pleased with the compliment. “Thank you! I’ve been working on it for months.” Her gaze then shifted to Steve, curiosity sparking in her eyes. “And who’s this?”
Before Steve could respond, Lily grinned and put a hand on his shoulder. “This is Stephanie,” she introduced, smoothly transitioning into character mode. “It’s her first convention.”
Steve felt his heart skip a beat, the pressure to act the part of “Stephanie” suddenly overwhelming. He swallowed nervously and gave a shy wave, trying his best to play along. “H-hi,” he said softly, attempting to make his voice sound more feminine, but the result came out as a soft, shy whisper.
Angela beamed at him, her friendly demeanor putting him at ease. “Well, nice to meet you, Stephanie! Don’t be nervous—it’s going to be so much fun. Everyone’s so welcoming at these cons, you’ll feel right at home.”
Steve smiled awkwardly, still unsure how to handle the attention. He glanced at Lily, silently thankful that she was doing most of the talking.
“Stephanie’s been a little shy,” Lily said with a wink, “but she’s really excited about the cosplay walk. We’re going to have a blast.”
Angela nodded enthusiastically. “You’ll be great, Stephanie. Trust me, after a while, you’ll forget all about being nervous.”
Steve managed to nod, still feeling a bit out of his element but grateful for Angela’s kindness. “I-I hope so,” he said in his best attempt at a girlish tone, though it still sounded a bit too shy for his liking.
Lily smiled knowingly and gave Steve a reassuring pat on the back. “Don’t worry, she’ll get there. Now let’s get registered!”
As Lily and Angela continued chatting about their costumes, Steve noticed a tall, muscular figure approaching them. The man was imposing, dressed in a dark, iconic uniform with a long coat, a chain hanging from his collar, and a hat tilted low over his eyes—he was cosplaying as Jotaro from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. His presence immediately drew attention.
Lily spotted him and broke into a wide grin. “Mitch! There you are!” she called out, waving him over. As he walked closer, it became obvious just how much effort he had put into his appearance. His muscles were huge, perfectly fitting the role of Jotaro, one of the most powerful characters in the anime.
Mitch grinned and gave Lily a friendly nod. “Hey, Lily. Long time no see!”
Lily’s eyes twinkled as she admired his costume. “You look incredible! Jotaro suits you perfectly. I can’t believe how much muscle you’ve built for this cosplay. You really went all out.”
Mitch chuckled, crossing his arms and flexing slightly, showing off his hard-earned physique. “Yeah, I’ve been hitting the gym hard for the past year. Gotta make sure I do Jotaro justice, right?”
Steve stood quietly, his eyes glued to Mitch’s broad shoulders and powerful arms. He had seen buff guys before, but there was something about Mitch’s sheer size that left him speechless. His own slender, petite body—especially now in the Cardcaptor Sakura costume—felt even more delicate in comparison. Mitch seemed to radiate masculinity, and Steve couldn’t help but feel a little envious.
He caught himself wondering what it would be like to have that kind of strength, to walk around with muscles that big. He must have so much testosterone, Steve thought to himself, his imagination running wild. And then, unbidden, came the thought that made Steve blush furiously: He’s probably... big everywhere.
Steve quickly looked away, feeling embarrassed for even thinking such a thing. He tugged nervously at his costume, trying to focus on something else.
Lily, unaware of Steve’s flustered thoughts, continued chatting with Mitch. “Seriously, Mitch, you’re the perfect Jotaro. You’re going to turn heads at the con for sure.”
Mitch laughed. “Thanks. I’m hoping so! I’ve been waiting for this one for a while.”
Steve, still feeling a bit out of place, gave a small nod in acknowledgment. “Y-yeah, you look great,” he said quietly, hoping to keep his voice steady. Mitch’s presence was intimidating, and Steve felt his own discomfort growing by the second.
Lily turned to Mitch with a playful grin. “Oh, Mitch, by the way, I want you to meet my friend Stephanie.” She gestured toward Steve, who was still feeling awkward and out of place in his Cardcaptor Sakura costume. “It’s her first con.”
Steve felt a sudden wave of nerves wash over him as Mitch’s attention shifted to him. Standing in the shadow of Mitch’s towering figure and muscular frame, Steve couldn’t help but feel small and intimidated. His heart raced as Mitch smiled down at him.
“Hey, Stephanie,” Mitch greeted him warmly. “You look cute in that Cardcaptor Sakura costume. Suits you well.”
Steve’s face turned bright red, his mind spinning at the unexpected compliment. He’d been so focused on trying to stay in character and not get noticed too much, and now here was Mitch—this big, imposing guy—calling him cute. Steve felt like he could melt on the spot.
“T-thank you,” Steve stammered, his voice coming out in the most girlish tone he could manage, trying to stay in character. He blushed even deeper as he added, almost instinctively, “You’re... really handsome as Jotaro.”
Mitch chuckled, clearly amused by Steve’s shy demeanor. “Thanks, I’ve been working on this for a while. You’re doing great for your first con, by the way. You’re totally in character.”
Before Steve could respond, Angela jumped in with a teasing grin. “Ooh, it looks like Stephie has a new crush on our Jotaro!” she teased, her voice light and playful.
Steve’s face flushed even redder, and he tried to stammer out a response, but the words wouldn’t come. Lily burst into laughter beside him, clearly entertained by the situation.
“Oh, Angela, don’t tease her too much!” Lily said through her laughter. “Poor Stephie’s already shy enough.”
Steve looked down at the floor, completely flustered but also unable to stop the small smile creeping onto his face. He couldn’t tell if Angela was serious or just teasing, but either way, the attention was overwhelming.
“I-I’m just... trying to stay in character,” Steve mumbled, still too embarrassed to look anyone in the eye.
Mitch, ever the good sport, smiled at Steve and gave him a reassuring nod. “No worries, Stephie. We’re all here to have fun. You’re doing great.”
Steve nodded, still feeling like he was in way over his head but somehow comforted by Mitch’s friendliness. Maybe this whole cosplay thing wouldn’t be so bad after all.
As the group moved forward in the line, it was finally their turn to register. Lily, still brimming with energy, stepped up to the registration desk with confidence. “Hi, we’d like to register as one group for the coswalk,” she said, flashing a friendly smile at the event staff.
The staff member nodded and handed her a form to fill out. “Names of the group?”
Lily quickly wrote down their names, glancing back at the others with a grin. “I’m registering all of us—Stephanie, Angela, Mitch, and myself. We’re going to rock this coswalk together.”
Steve’s eyes widened in surprise. “Wait, what’s a coswalk?” he asked, still unsure of what exactly he had signed up for. His heart raced with nervous anticipation. He had barely managed to keep his composure so far, and now the idea of walking in front of a crowd left him feeling even more flustered.
Lily gave him a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, Steve. The coswalk is super easy. We just walk down the hall, strike a few poses, and let the visitors take pictures. It’s all about showing off our costumes and having fun.”
Angela chimed in, her voice soft and soothing. “Yeah, Stephie, you’ll be great. It’s not a competition or anything, so no pressure. Just enjoy it.”
Steve wasn’t entirely convinced, but he nodded, trying to ease the knot of nerves tightening in his stomach. “Okay... I’ll try.”
Mitch placed a large, reassuring hand on Steve’s shoulder. “Don’t sweat it, Stephie. You’ve got us with you. And as long as I’m here, nothing’s going to go wrong,” he said with a confident grin.
Steve managed a small smile, grateful for their support but still feeling uneasy about the whole situation. “I guess... I just don’t want to mess it up.”
Lily handed the completed registration form to the staff member and turned back to Steve with a bright grin. “You won’t! You’ve got this, trust me. Plus, we’ll all be walking together, so you won’t be on your own. We’re a team now.”
Angela gave Steve an encouraging wink. “Just take it easy, Stephie. Once you’re out there, you’ll see—it’s actually fun! The crowd’s super supportive, and people love taking photos of cosplayers.”
Mitch crossed his arms and gave a playful smirk. “And if anyone gives us trouble, I’ve got them covered.”
Steve couldn’t help but chuckle nervously at that. He still wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but with his friends around him, maybe it wouldn’t be as terrifying as he thought. The idea of walking in front of a crowd in his Cardcaptor Sakura costume still made his heart race, but there was something exciting about it, too.
“Alright,” Steve said, taking a deep breath. “Let’s do this.”
They finally stepped into the convention hall, Steve couldn’t help but be amazed once again. The atmosphere was electric—everywhere he looked, there were cosplayers dressed as characters from countless anime, manga, and video games. It was like being inside a living, breathing anime world, and the sheer scale of it left him in awe.
How do so many people do this? he thought to himself as he scanned the crowd. He couldn’t help but imagine all of these cosplayers leading normal, everyday lives during the week—going to work, school, or whatever else they did—and then transforming into their favorite anime characters on the weekends. It was like entering an alternate universe for just a day, where people could become anyone they wanted.
Before he could get too lost in thought, a girl dressed as another anime character approached him with wide eyes and a big smile. “Sakura! Can I get a photo with you?” she asked excitedly, holding up her phone.
Steve was taken aback at first, his heart skipping a beat. He had known this would happen eventually, but he hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly. “Oh! Uh...” He froze for a moment, unsure of what to do. But then he remembered what Lily had told him—just stay in character, and have fun.
Taking a deep breath, Steve gave the girl a shy but sweet smile, channeling the cute energy of Cardcaptor Sakura. He struck a cute pose, holding his magical wand out in front of him and placing his free hand on his hip, just like he’d seen Sakura do in the manga. “Sure!” he said, doing his best to sound cheerful.
The girl’s face lit up as she admired Steve’s pose. “Oh my gosh, that’s so cute!” she gushed, stepping closer to take a selfie with him.
Steve’s heart raced, but he forced himself to stay calm and smile brightly as the girl held up her phone. They took the selfie together, and just as the girl was about to thank him, Lily appeared at Steve’s side, fully in character as Shaoran.
“Mind if I join?” Lily asked, flashing a confident smile.
The girl’s eyes widened with excitement. “Shaoran too? Oh my gosh, this is perfect!”
Lily quickly stepped into position beside Steve, drawing her fake sword and striking a cool, protective pose as Shaoran. Steve followed her lead, adjusting his own pose to stand beside her. Together, they looked like a perfect pair—Sakura and Shaoran, straight out of the manga.
The girl snapped a few more photos, clearly thrilled with how it turned out. “Thank you so much! You both look amazing,” she said before heading off into the crowd.
Steve let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, feeling a mix of relief and pride. “That... wasn’t as bad as I thought,” he said, glancing at Lily.
Lily gave him a playful nudge. “See? I told you! You were great, Stephie. You’re really getting into the role now.”
Steve smiled, still feeling a little shy but gaining confidence with each passing moment. “Yeah... I guess I am.”
They continued to move through the convention, more people approached them for photos, and with each one, Steve found it a little easier to pose and have fun. He was still getting used to it, but for the first time, he was starting to enjoy the experience.
As the day went on, Steve found himself getting more comfortable with his role as Sakura. With each photo request and interaction, he felt the nerves slowly melting away. It wasn’t long before he started to really embrace the character, even posing more confidently for the visitors.
Angela and Mitch were busy, too, surrounded by fans who admired their impressive costumes. Mitch, in his JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure cosplay, flexed and struck strong poses, while Angela, in her elegant Belle gown, twirled gracefully for photos. Steve admired how natural they seemed, and it inspired him to let go of his own hesitation.
Feeling a bit left out, Steve adjusted his own costume—a cute, frilly outfit inspired by a beloved character. He glanced around, taking in the sights, when he noticed a few guys in a hoodie jacket standing a few feet away, watching him intently. The guy’s face was mostly hidden by the hood, but there was something intriguing about his demeanor.
As Steve turned back to his friends, the hooded figure approached him, his voice low but polite. “Do you mind taking a photo with us?”
Steve, eager to spread joy and embody his character, replied in the most girly tone he could muster, “Sure!” He assumed those guys were just shy visitors who didn’t want to pose in front of the larger crowd. With a smile, he followed those guys to a quieter spot away from the main throng.
Once they reached a secluded corner, Steve felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. “Okay, which one of you is taking the camera? Please form a line!” He flashed his brightest smile, striking a playful pose with his hands on his hips, trying to create a lighthearted atmosphere.
One of the guys, who had been lingering in the back, stepped forward. “I want you to pose cute,” he said, his eyes glinting mischievously.
“Of course!” Steve chirped, fully embracing the character he was portraying. He spun around, striking a cute pose with his head tilted and his hands clasped under his chin. Laughter bubbled up inside him; it was all in good fun.
The guy with the phone snapped a few photos, but then his tone shifted. “Now, give us a skirt flip,” one of them said, their tone more commanding than playful.
Steve’s playful spirit kicked in again. “Alright, here goes!” He giggled, flipping his skirt with a flourish, feeling confident and carefree. But as he did so, he noticed the glances exchanged between the guys. Something about their expressions sent a chill down his spine, but he brushed it off, convinced he was overthinking things.
Then, without warning, one of the guys grabbed Steve’s wrist, pulling him closer. The sudden motion caught him off guard, and he stumbled a bit. “Sakura,” the guy whispered, a smirk playing on his lips, “I want you to pull out the Clow Card in my pants.”
The playful atmosphere shattered in an instant. Steve’s heart raced as reality set in. He was far from Angela and Mitch, isolated with strangers who had drawn him away under false pretenses. Panic surged within him as he realized the danger of the situation.
“Wait, what?” Steve said, his voice shaky. He pulled back instinctively, trying to break free from the grip. “I think you’ve got the wrong idea!”
The guy’s smirk widened, and the other men closed in, blocking any chance of escape. “Oh, we know exactly what we’re doing,” he replied, his voice dripping with menace. “Just relax, Sakura. We’re all friends here.”
Steve's mind raced. The playful banter had turned sinister in an instant. He glanced around, desperately searching for any sign of his friends. The crowd that had once felt vibrant now seemed distant and out of reach. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay calm despite the rising panic.
“Let go of me!” he insisted, trying to sound firmer than he felt. “I’m not playing this game.”
One of the other guys laughed, a sound that sent a shiver down Steve’s spine. “Oh, but we think you are. You’ve already played your part by coming with us. Now, let’s see how well you can play along.”
Suddenly, another man stepped forward, pulling something from his jacket—a thick rope and a large sack. The sight of the items made Steve’s stomach drop. “What are you doing?” he gasped, feeling the icy grip of fear tighten around his heart.
“Just a little game,” the guy sneered, taking a step closer. “You’re going to have so much fun with us.”
Desperate, Steve tried to scream for help, but before he could make a sound, one of them clamped a hand over his mouth, muffling his cries. Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes as panic surged through him. He struggled against their grip, fighting to break free, but their hold was too strong.
Steve’s mind raced with dark thoughts. This was it. This was how it ended. He was going to be taken away, and who knew what they planned to do with him? The horrifying possibility of becoming a victim, a mere plaything, crept into his thoughts, filling him with dread.
Feeling a surge of desperation, Steve squirmed and kicked, trying to free himself from their grasp. “Please!” he whimpered, his voice choking with fear. “Let me go!”
The guy holding his wrist tightened his grip, a cruel smile on his face. “You’re not going anywhere, Sakura. Just relax. It’ll be over before you know it.”
Steve was overwhelmed with fear as tears streamed down his face, the suffocating grip of panic closing in around him. Just when he thought he was completely alone in this horrifying moment, a familiar voice cut through the chaos.
“Hey! What are you all doing?” Mitch’s booming voice echoed from behind, drawing the attention of the hooded men.
Before anyone could react, Mitch charged forward, his muscular frame moving with purpose. He threw a powerful punch at the closest guy, connecting squarely with his jaw. The impact sent the man sprawling to the ground, momentarily stunned. The other men turned to face Mitch, but they were no match for his strength.
“Mitch!” Steve cried, his voice a mix of relief and astonishment as he watched his friend spring into action. The sight of Mitch’s unwavering bravery in the face of danger filled him with a sense of hope amid his despair.
Mitch quickly grappled with one of the remaining guys, using his size to his advantage. He pinned the man against the wall, his grip tight and unyielding. “You picked the wrong person to mess with,” Mitch growled, his eyes blazing with protective fury.
The other hooded figures, seeing their friend incapacitated, hesitated for a moment, exchanging nervous glances. They didn’t expect someone like Mitch to intervene so forcefully, and fear began to seep into their bravado.
“Let’s get out of here!” one of them shouted, panic creeping into his voice. They began to back away, realizing they were outmatched.
“Not so fast!” Mitch barked, still holding the guy in place. “You’re not going anywhere”
“Mitch, let’s just go!” Steve pleaded, his voice trembling but filled with urgency. The last thing he wanted was for Mitch to get hurt because of him. “We need to get out of here!”
Mitch released his grip, sending the guy stumbling to the ground, then turned back to Steve, his expression softening. “You’re right. Let’s go.” He quickly grabbed Steve’s arm, leading him away from the scene.
As they made their way through the crowd, Mitch kept a protective hand on Steve’s back, guiding him toward the event's exit. Steve felt a mix of emotions—relief, gratitude, and lingering fear—but above all, he felt safe with Mitch by his side.
They reached a quieter area away from the main event, and Mitch stopped to catch his breath. “Are you okay?” he asked, his brow furrowed with concern.
Steve nodded, though the tears still glistened in his eyes. “I was so scared, Mitch. I thought…” His voice broke as he recalled the terrifying moments he had just experienced.
Mitch pulled him into a comforting embrace, squeezing him tightly. “I’m here, Stephie. I’ve got you. Nothing is going to happen to you while I’m around.”
Steve leaned into the hug, grateful for Mitch's unwavering support. “Thank you for saving me,” he whispered, feeling a wave of relief wash over him.
“Always,” Mitch replied, pulling back to look Steve in the eye. “Let’s find Angela and get out of here. Together.”
As Mitch and Steve made their way through the bustling event, relief washed over them at the thought of reuniting with Angela and Lily. After what felt like an eternity, they finally spotted their friends near a food stand, scanning the crowd with worried expressions.
“Stephanie!” Angela called out, her face lighting up as she rushed toward them. “We’ve been looking everywhere for you!”
Lily, her eyes wide with concern, followed closely behind. “Are you okay?” she asked, her voice laced with urgency.
Before Steve could respond, he felt a wave of emotion crash over him again. Tears brimmed in his eyes as he threw his arms around Lily, seeking the comfort he so desperately needed. “I’m scared, Lily. I thought they were going to hurt me,” he cried, his voice trembling.
Lily hugged him tightly, her warmth enveloping him like a protective shield. “It’s okay, Stephie. You’re safe now. We’re all together,” she whispered soothingly, rubbing his back gently.
Mitch stepped forward, his expression serious. “There’s something you all need to know,” he said, taking a deep breath. “Those guys… they were planning to kidnap Steve. They thought it was some kind of joke.”
“What?” Angela gasped, her face paling. “Are you serious?”
“Yeah,” Mitch continued, his voice filled with anger. “There’s been a rumor going around about a group of perverts who’ve been targeting cute cosplayers, thinking it’s funny to kidnap them and film it and broadcast it on Youtube for their followers. They’re sick, and they’re proud of what they do.”
Steve shuddered at Mitch’s words, recalling the feeling of helplessness that had gripped him moments before. “I thought I was going to be their next victim,” he whispered, tears still streaming down his cheeks.
Lily pulled back slightly, looking Steve in the eye. “You’re not alone in this. We’ll make sure nothing like that happens again,” she promised fiercely.
Mitch nodded, his expression softening as he looked at Steve. “I didn’t know they were into crossdresser or anything like that. They seemed so normal at first, but they definitely had a different agenda,” he added, shaking his head in disbelief. “I’m so sorry I didn’t realize it sooner.”
Steve, stunned. He couldn’t believe Mitch had known about his crossdressing all along. The fear and vulnerability of the past moments were suddenly mixed with a new wave of embarrassment. “Since when did you know?” he asked, his voice shaking.
Mitch shrugged, a casual smile creeping onto his face. “Honestly? Since the first time we met. I could tell you had that flair for it. And honestly, it’s pretty cool. You own it.”
Steve felt a flush of warmth spread across his cheeks. “So, you knew I was… crossdressing? And you didn’t say anything?”
“Why would I?” Mitch replied, leaning against the wall casually. “You were having fun being yourself as Stephanie, right?”
“It’s Steve,” he corrected, but the way Mitch said it made him feel oddly accepted.
“Nice to meet you, Steve,” Mitch said with a grin. “I think it suits you. You pull off that Sakura look really well.”
Angela chimed in, her tone brightening the mood. “Exactly! Don’t be sad, Steve. You’re adorable as Sakura! We love seeing you in character. It doesn’t matter if you’re a boy, girl, or anything in between. We just want you to have fun!”
Steve couldn’t help but smile at Angela’s enthusiasm. “Thanks, Angela. I guess I just got caught up in the fear of everything that happened.”
“It’s understandable,” Mitch said, his voice softening. “What those guys did was wrong. You should never feel ashamed of who you are. We all just want you to feel safe and accepted, no matter what.”
“Yeah,” Angela added, her eyes sparkling with determination. “We’ve always played along with everyone at the conventions. Whether they’re boys, girls, or crossdressers, it’s about having fun together. You have every right to express yourself just like anyone else.”
“Thanks, guys,” Steve said, feeling a swell of gratitude. “It means a lot to know you both support me. I just… I was so scared that I wouldn’t fit in anymore.”
“Forget about that fear,” Mitch said, placing a reassuring hand on Steve’s shoulder. “You fit in with us. Always. Just look at the way everyone loves your costume! You’re making memories, and that’s what really matters.”
Lily stepped forward, her expression earnest. “Yeah, like I said, everyone here is so supportive. Promise me, Steve, you won’t separate from us again. You’re too precious to be kidnapped by perverts.”
As she pulled him into a tight embrace, Steve felt a rush of warmth and safety envelop him. Lily’s hug was firm, almost protective, and he could feel the sincerity in her words.
“I promise,” he said softly, his voice muffled against her shoulder. “I didn’t mean to get lost. I just… I got caught up in the moment, and then everything turned so dark.”
Lily pulled back slightly, looking him in the eyes. “I know. But we’re here for you. We’ll stick together no matter what, and I’ll make sure we keep an eye out for each other. You don’t have to face anything alone.”
Steve nodded, the fear that had lingered in his chest starting to dissipate. “Thank you, Lily. It really helps to know I have all of you watching my back.”
Mitch chimed in, “Absolutely. We’re a team. No one gets left behind. And if anyone tries to mess with you again, they’ll have to deal with all of us.”
“Right!” Angela added, her excitement bubbling over. “We’ll make it our mission to have the best time ever and show everyone how awesome you are. No more worrying, just fun!”
Feeling their unwavering support, Steve smiled for the first time since the incident. “I really appreciate it, everyone. You all mean so much to me.”
With renewed energy, the group began to make their way through the convention once again. As they walked, Steve felt lighter, surrounded by friends who genuinely cared about him. The weight of fear was slowly lifting, replaced by the excitement of shared experiences and laughter.
Together, they ventured into the bustling crowd, ready to take on whatever the day had in store. With the bond of friendship guiding them, they were prepared to face the world, united against any threat that dared to come their way.
