Handyman Audiobook Release | Card Slinger Final Edits
🕑 Added 2025-06-27 16:30:24 +0000 UTCHi everyone!
I hope you're having a fantastic week.
I’ve got two quick announcements to share with you today:
1. Final Edits for Hidden Class: Card Slinger
I'm about to begin my final round of proofreading and editing for the first Card Slinger book, which is set to release on August 4!
Based on reader feedback, there are two main changes I’ll be making:
Deckard’s age: I’ll be adjusting Deckard’s age from 25 to around 21 or 22. A reader pointed out that ten years is a long time to carry unresolved grief from Andy’s death. Shortening that gap should make his emotional arc feel more immediate and believable.
IRL posts: Some readers mentioned they’d like to see more moments where Deckard lives up to his end of the deal with Nexus and posts about playing AstroTerra. I’ll be weaving in a few short segments where the story takes a breath and we get to see him do just that.
Is there anything you’d like to see changed? Are there any cards that didn’t quite land for you? Or anything else I should keep in mind during this final pass? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
2. Audiobook Release Date for Hidden Class: Handyman 1
We have a date! The audiobook for Handyman 1 is coming out on August 8!
I’ll be sharing a preview with you soon—can’t wait for you to hear it.
Thanks again for all your support. You're the reason these stories get to exist.

Wait, I thought Deckard was close to 30 in age? But still, 25 would've been reasonable. Anyway, good luck!

Some good things here! Super excited! It would be nice to see how he interacts with the Pet system, especially if it had some synergies with his Hidden class.
