We've just figured it out and watched the parts we missed as of the time of posting this. In the next episode, we are even more confused about the recap in the beginning, but we just assumed they skipped a day in the actual show. Just a FYI for reassurance👍🏽. We are all good now, though!

They did have to kill Mason though, first time watching I didn’t want it but he was actively trying to hurt the brothers, and that was Katherine plan b 🤣🤣🤣

Oh but they did have to kill Mason because apparently a werewolf bite is fatal to them so why risk it? He also exposed them to the sheriff’s counsel and sent them to the slaughter without blinking, he would’ve never truly trusted them after they survived that and he wouldn’t have wanted to live in fear so he would’ve just tried to do it again without it getting fd up this time, as Damon said when Jeremy said he doesn’t need to die is kill or be killed Mason would kill them the second he gets the chance to there’s no reason for them to live in fear either that one day Mason might just come up with a better plan to end them… their relationship was ruined the minute Damon tried to kill him the first time there was no hope after that, none of them trusts the other and to be honest even if Damon didn’t try that the first time as per what they know the legend does say a bite from a werewolf kills a vampire so it would still be better for them to get rid of him instead of playing Russian roulette
