When Katherine said that to Stefan, I feel like she was implying that it was the biggest mistake he ever made mainly because she probably believed that Stefan putting his trust in Damon when it came to Elena was a huge error in judgment. I don’t know, maybe I’m just overthinking it or rambling at this point. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong! See, this is exactly why I think Damon and Katherine are so alike their personalities are literally the same. They think the same way, act the same way. and it’s clear that patterns repeat themselves with them. Honestly, that’s one of the many reasons I think Katherine doesn’t really like Damon ‘like that’ she literally sees herself in him. So, when people say they ‘love Katherine but not Damon,’ I get confused, because Damon basically mirrors her in so many ways, and you can’t ignore the obvious similarities between them if you actually pay attention. Honestly, you can’t sit there and say you hate Damon but love Katherine when they are literally the same person it just doesn’t add up. Both are clever, manipulative when they need to be, and fully capable of bending people to their will. They have that same reckless charm that makes everyone around them fall for their schemes, and they both know exactly how to push the right buttons to get what they want. Damon might not always be a survivor in the same sense Katherine is, but he embodies her personality in almost every way the same impulsiveness, the same ego, the same way of thinking several steps ahead. Katherine sees herself in Damon, which is probably one of the main reasons she can never really love him it’s like looking in a mirror and being reminded of everything she is. Period. You can’t separate them, and honestly, anyone who claims to love one but hate the other is blind to the obvious truth. * “Also, just to be clear, I’m not saying this to disagree with anyone’s opinion I love both Damon and Katherine. Obviously Elena's character is not safe at all. I strongly dislike her during/after season 3 and so on, she's just very annoying sometimes. Every character in this show has very annoying moments and makes people dislike/hate them. It's normal, not every character is going to be liked especially through entire seasons 🤷🏾‍♀️

How can you trust a stranger like Klaus who you know nothing about? What if he’s a sadistic psychopath who just loves seeing people suffer? Elena believes she can give herself away to Klaus and ask him not to hurt his loved ones and he would actually listen to her but how can she trust that? What if he took her for the sacrifice and then he killed all of her family just for sport or for covering his tracks? Elena has been naive and I don’t blame her, her intention is noble and selfless but she’s suffering from survival guilt and the ones with this condition are very careless with their lives. They would constantly put themselves in dangerous situations believing if they sacrificed themselves for their loved ones, they would finally redeem themselves because they have this irrational guilt of feeling unworthy and that they don’t deserve to live above others. Elena started developing survival guilt after her parent’s death but now after finding out that she’s a doppelgänger and that would automatically put every one around her in danger, her condition got even worse and she feels like she’s at fault for every bad thing that has happened to her loved ones so she wants to die so she could finally “redeem” herself and that’s why she needed to be saved from herself because due to her psychological condition at the moment she cannot think straight and she would end up get herself killed and also everyone else as well because Klaus cannot be trusted. it's not that others don't underestand how dangerous Klaus could be, it's that they undrestand it better than Elena and that's why they want to fight back instesd of giving up and Elena handing herself over to Klaus is a death sentence for all of them.

It was like they didn’t know what to do with Bonnie so they stuck her with the white boy who happens to be her best friends brother. It’s been proven that Elijah is way worse than Klaus. There’s a reason why people tend to be cautious when dealing with Elijah than Klaus. And especially what we learn about Elijah in the originals and his whole storyline, he’s 10 times worse than Klaus ever will be. Plus he’s the greatest fighter throughout the whole show, the only person surpassing Elijah is you know who (can’t spoil it) but people only fear Klaus because he’s outloud crazy and doesn’t care.

Honestly, I can’t stand when her haters say, “If she wanted to sacrifice herself, she should’ve just done it.” Like… be serious. How is she supposed to do anything with two vampire bodyguards glued to her 24/7? She’s tried countless times, and this episode literally shows why she can’t because they constantly interfere and stop her every single chance she gets. I love Damon and I’m not a Stefan fan, but let’s be real: both Salvatore brothers want Elena alive for their own benefit, not hers. It’s selfish. They never stop to realize she had a whole life before they crashed into it. She has family. She has people she wants to protect. It’s not always about what they want. sometimes i question her haters do they watch the show?

I actually really love Elena’s arc this season. You have to remember that she’s still dealing with the grief and survivor’s guilt from losing her parents, so her being so determined to die in the place of the people she loves makes complete sense to her right now. It’s sad that she won’t fight to live but I understand why she feels like that.
