Also I realize that would be an addition to the plan but not unheard of in plane making right? Maybe it would be more complicated than I realize tho?

I wondered the same thing, it seems like if the sole is a separate piece you'd be able to fit the step on the frog over the body and the sole would meet directly under the frog? I'm fairly new btw, terminology isn't my thing, I hope my comments and questions make sense.

Did you lop off the lower section of the frog just to make shaping easier? Or is it necessary for another reason?

Thanks for these plans, I can see the effort that you put into them. I would love to make one but unfortunately time (and the state of my workshop!) Is against me at the moment. As soon as possible I will be giving it a go...
