The Inevitable Sick Day

I caught a bit of a cold this week. I had big plans for interesting things, but I ended up welded to the couch instead. It happens to all of us.
I know no one minds when I take a week off, especially for my health. Many of you have urged me to take it a bit easier and take better care of myself. So that’s what I’m doing. In the early days of my channel, I worked even when I was sick (thank you, caffeine). I can’t do that anymore. I simply don’t have the energy that I used to.
But that’s okay, especially because my Patrons always encourage me to take a break now and then and consider the long-term health of the community. And these days, the community is transitioning more and more to all of you. Your excellent discussions on the Discourse Discussion Board have spread quality information and encouragement to so many people who need it. I can do a little less because all of you are doing so much more.
We will return to regular programming next week.

I ended up having the flu for three weeks instead of the typical one week because I kept forcing myself to go back to school too soon when I was 18. Felt well enough on Monday and okay on Tuesday, and completely crap by Wednesday.
