Sneak Peek: The Great Handplane Collaboration
🕑 Added 2022-07-30 11:01:01 +0000 UTCFriends:
It's my week "off", but I'm really excited about an upcoming project. The mighty James Wright has organized a bunch of YouTube creators to work together on restoring a Stanley transitional plane.
James found the plane and made the exquisite handles you see in the pictures. He tasked me with making a new body. You can see my body blank in the photos: figured sycamore with a center stripe of walnut. The blade, japanning, and other surprise appointments will be handled by other creators and I'm talking BIG names here. I'm really lucky to be in this project.
I can't say when it will be done, but it's something to look out for.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Fascinating!

You will have to enter it in the national handplane show . I can tell its going to be very nice and unique. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Once you get done with that one, I have a #36 for you to restore. The #36 has a 2-3/8" iron and is an inch longer. otherwise the same
