Patron Edition Video: The Sliding Dovetail
🕑 Added 2023-02-11 12:00:03 +0000 UTCFriends:
Today, we’re going to learn the Sliding Dovetail. This joint is very common in Continental and even Chinese woodworking, but it’s kind of rare in American and British work. The joint is unfamiliar to many of us and it’s tricky to cut the first time…but only the first time. Knock out a set of these and you’ll have the confidence to use them in many future projects.
This is the first video with our new Patron Tips feature. The video is longer and more detailed and these extra parts are just for Patrons.
In the video, I reference Chris Schwarz’ excellent article on Moravian Stools, and you can find that right here:

There’s also Garrett Hack’s full, hour-long presentation on making and using the scratch. That’s another Patron exclusive and you can see it right here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/64250911or here’s a direct link to Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/692205036/651f5181ed
Finally, the exclusive plans I mention in the video will pop up here in just 30 minutes. I staggered the release of these posts to keep from flooding everyone’s e-mail.
Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!
