Maker Spotlight: Frank's Workbench

I'm recovering from Covid....slowly. It's been 2 weeks and I'm just starting to feel normal. People talk about "Covid fatigue" and they're not kidding. I haven't had symptoms for a week, but I've still been glued to the couch. Needless to say, I didn't make a video this week.
Instead, I would like to highlight a young woodworker who deserves more attention. Frank from the channel Frank's Workbench is a talented craftsman with a precise approach to the craft. He makes informative videos filled with humor and wit. I especially like this video on workbench joinery, but I really recommend all his work. If you get a chance, subscribe to Frank's channel and leave him a comment. Tell him I sent you.
As for me, I have some energy today and I even spent an hour in the shop. (I always think it's burned down while I was gone, but it's still there.) I expect to do normal work next week and we have a couple of videos that are almost done. We'll be back on schedule next weekend.
Thanks so much for your patience and support. It means everything to me.

No surprise Rex that you are also a fan of Frank. His Solid EPIC table video is what got me hooked - no one else I have seen can make their planes hum like that! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRCVpPOKEkk&t=1s -

Took me over a year to get over it. Wishing you all the best recovering. Take it easy.

It's funny: I kind of enjoy being sick for a day or two. Unlimited Netflix and no work? Not bad. But after a week or more, you're just dying to be USEFUL again.
Rex Krueger
You can look forward to a new video this weekend!

I was recording Shorts yesterday when my voice just....stopped working. Never happened before.

Hug received! thank you.

Don't worry, I'm already filming!
Rex Krueger
Thank you! Frank has earned it.

It's funny because I've been sick so many times in my life. Bronchitis, strep, all multiple times, but covid was worse and lasted longer.
Rex Krueger
He's doing great work and , luckily, seeing some success.
Rex Krueger
Yeah, it's been a drag, for sure.

Frank is just one of several young makers who have me watching my 6.

i also recommend Frank's channel !! He seems very talented, a real craftsman, and much like your channel I appreciate the practical and down to earth approach. I'm still dealing with COVID too, having some heart complications that have persisted since recovering from the other symptoms. Glad you could get back in the shop for an hour--feels good, doesn't it? In case you need to hear it, have empathy for yourself thru recovery.

It's not an easy recovery. Hang in there Rex. Remember, sometimes there's no substitute for the original. Looking forward to your return.

COVID and the flu both leave you feeling utterly drained for WEEKS. Take your time and don't push too hard. We'll be here when you get back.

Get better Rex. A big hug from Spain

Thank you for the recommendation Rex. Looks like another great woodworking channel. Get all the rest you need. This COVID crap is nothing to mess with. We'll be patient and wait for your recovery.

I love this video. I discovered Frank's Workbench a couple weeks ago.

Glad you’re feeling a bit better. Been there, not fun.

Frank lives up to your enthusiasm. Lots of top notch techniques. If making videos was a competitive sport Frank would sure give you a run for the money. Don’t get too comfortable in that couch. We miss you so feel better.
Sean McGown
Feel better, Rex. Thanks for the tip on Frank.
Geoffrey Wilson
Glad to hear you are feeling better

Frank is excellent! I love the flow of his videos. I had long covid symptoms for months after the first time I caught it, and it was ROUGH. Hoping you have an accelerating recovery!
Richard Copeland
Really enjoy your videos, and as a new hand tool woodworker I’m learning a lot from you. But your health is far more important. Take care of yourself first and the rest will be waiting for you in due time. I’ll check out Frank.
Marc Barash
Hope you feel better, I have been watching Frank for 3 years and he is a joy to watch.
Eric McCormick
Oof, that was one of the roughest parts of it. Glad to hear it’s improving. Frank does good work too.
