That would be a little too 'Blaster Nation'. I recall a similar story arc before I dropped that webcomic. Not saying the trope can't be used in a way that's actually entertaining, which BN was unsuccessful at, in my opinion.

Quinn is making a lot of frowny faces, but she isn't tell Pumpkin to hit the road. Is she secretly pleased to have a diversion from web surfing? Is she totally not admitting that to anyone including herself?

All Pumpkin needs to do is find out what Quinn's online alias is and go searching for the fic. Wouldn't be surprised if she did that on her return home!
