The Obsidian isn’t rated for 300 super, but the Mojave is. Sound wise, pew science is going to be a better source. I can’t hear a remarkable difference in full configuration between this and other suppressors, but that’s how comparisons get complicated.
How does this compare to the Rugged Obsidian 9 or 45? Hopefully you’re not contractually prohibited from comparing the two. It seems Dead Air doesn’t ever allow anyone to compare their cans to those from Rugged. The Obsidian 9 is [slightly] smaller in diameter, breaks down into a shorter section, is almost on par weight wise, has been proven over 6 years, and costs about $500 less. I’m guessing there won’t be much of a difference on PCCs, with a negligible difference on handguns. Would also be great to test it on .300BLK in both subs and supers.
Yeah, it’s like they read what goes into great customer service and went “let’s do the opposite of that”.
Looks like a great can, but I have a very hard time trusting Dead Air to do right by the consumer after the Sierra 5 debacle and the subsequent silence from the company.
