Any Port in a Storm: Chapter 35

Strangely, Miru's unexpected arrival ended up being a welcome reset. The crushing post-nut guilt of my infidelity had been swept to the side when I was forced to deal with the threat that Miru posed. And now that it was over the guilt was far less immediate and potent.
Staring at the section of underbrush Miru disappeared into I reflect on the encounter. She was an odd one. Like all creatures who evolve on isolated islands the Kane's developed down their own unique path. They were all odd, but in Miru there was something else. Something in her dark eyes and her fluid body language that set her apart from anyone I'd ever met. She had a peculiar charm about her that was impossible to pin down. If there was such a thing in this world as sorcery Miru would be the one to discover it.
I look to Marama who was still nude and still in my arms. “Do you believe her? Do you think it's a trick and that she'll tell the others where we are?”
Mara thinks a moment. “I do not think it is a trick. But...she was speaking strangely.” I could see his sister's words had troubled the young man. “Miru's always been different. Independent. Rebellious. She resists Father's teachings and bothers Mother with questions we're not allowed to ask.” He lowers his voice as if telling a terrible secret. “Makea told me that Miru is building a Drua, a sailing canoe.” I then see fear in his eyes. “Please don't teach my sister magic Tony. Don't damn her soul.”
I stroke his smooth cheek. “I can't teach what doesn't exist.”
He then trembles in my arms. “I...I do not wish to be a slave. Even to you. Please don't make me a slave.”
“Of course not! Geez. There is nothing magical about me Marama. I'd magic myself off this damn island if I could cast spells. I can't enslave anyone, nobody can. Magic isn't real. Everybody is responsible for their own behavior.” I am hit with a pang of guilt at my own recent behavior. I felt powerless against Mara's beauty but I knew I really wasn't. I chose to do what I did, and what I would do in the future, and I would have to live with those decisions.
Taking his slender hand in mine I speak in a warm gentle tone. “You've been a slave long enough. A slave to a petty selfish cruel man who tried to hold you down and crush your spirit. You are an incredible and vibrant person Marama. You need to be free to become the person I know you can be.” I smile. “Besides, I don't want a slave. I want a friend.”
This cheers him up. “I want to be your friend Tony, and your cutie.” He pauses and lowers his eyes bashfully. In a quiet whisper he adds. “And your wife.” He kisses my chest and I lean down and kiss his sweaty brow.
“I know baby.” His puppy love was touching and deeply flattering but it was more infatuation than true love. I was literally the first man he'd ever seen that wasn't his father and I had only met him yesterday.
I felt the crippling guilt rising up again as I think about how quickly it had all happened but I push it back down, those feelings would only be an anchor round my neck right now. The stable status quo of this island was in the process of a major shake up and wallowing in my shame wasn't going to help me prepare for what was to come. “Come on, we should clean ourselves up.”
There were still warm feelings between us but after my tears and Miru's interruption the passion had most definitely drained away. Mara just wanted to kiss and cuddle but I eventually lead him to the stream and the pair of us clean up with the fresh running water.
“This really is a great spot. Fruit, water, a bit of shelter there in the roots.” I say looking around. “I think we have to trust your sister not to rat us out. I don't think we'll find a better place.”
“It's our new home.” He chirps excitedly, as if this was just a big adventure. All cleaned up he prances across the clearing and picks up his clothes, his big soft dick bobs and swings to his gazelle like movements. He slips on his dress and ties the belt tight around his waist and just like that he was a girl again.
“Say...bring your cute little tush over here.” I beckon him back.
He dances and spins back toward me like a ballerina, he was feeling one hell of a post-coital high right now. He twirls into my arms and I catch him easily. He sneaks me a kiss before I was ready and we both laugh. GAH! This cutie was too much. I kiss him again.
“Want to have sex again?” He asks with wide excited eyes. “Can I suck on your cock again? I enjoyed that. I enjoyed all of it!”
“No!” I laugh. Keeping up with a 19 year old's sex drive was not going to be easy. “No, I had a question for you.”
“What is it?”
I couldn't believe that I of all people was about to say what I was about to say to him. But seeing him, hearing him, feeling him exude femininity as effortlessly as a spring magnolia emitting its sweet scent I felt I simply had to talk to him. I wasn't equipped for this sort of talk. Until Marama I always thought gender issues were just so much SJW nonsense. But this lad had me reconsidering everything. He was a man, yet he wasn't. His every sound and action and nuance suggested that he was female.
I keep my voice chipper to make everything sound as natural and as easy as possible. Being around Marama just cheered me up, so this wasn't difficult. “Back in my world, the REAL world, did you know that people get to choose whether they are a boy or a girl?”
“Whaaaa!?” His reaction was almost cartoonishly over the top, but I could see it came from a genuine place.
I nod. “It's true. Most people stick with what...ya know, society or their parents tell them they are. What their body type is. But people can choose the other, if that's what they feel is true for them.” I couldn't believe I was saying these words. This damned island was changing me. But there were more important things at stake right now. “I love being a man. I'm comfortable with it and I feel it suits me. What about you Marama? Do you feel good being a boy?”
“What? Umm...I...I don't know. I just...am, I guess. I don't know Tony.”
I could plainly see I was rocking his world right now. I chuckle and nuzzle his soft cheek with my nose. “It's okay. I was just wondering. Your Dad's been lying to you so much I figured he probably fed you all of that Adam and Eve nonsense. It's okay, we don't have to talk about this. I was just curious.”
“Wait.” He whispers. “No, I...I want to talk about it.”
“Sure.”
“Why...why do boys...” I could see the confusion expressed on his face as he struggled with the concept. “What would happen if I did...feel like a girl?”
“Happen? What do you think would happen?”
He lowers his eyes. “You would laugh at me. Like when you saw my penis.”
“Oh geez.” I hug him tighter. “I wasn't laughing at you baby, I was laughing at the situation. I was just surprised. I'd never laugh you Marama. Not in a mean way. Besides, this isn't about me it is about you. Who cares if others laugh if you are happy on the inside. Do you think Makea would laugh at you?”
He shakes his head. “She would be happy for me.”
“And Huali and Miru? Your mother?”
“I...don't know.”
“Well Makea, Ashley, and I would see you for who you really are. That is half the island. The others would accept it eventually. If that is what you want.”
“How...how would I do it?”
“Well, you just...do it. That's it. Tell people and just be yourself.”
He glances up into my eyes. “Sometimes...with Makea...” He falls quiet.
“Yes?”
“When we're alone...” He swallows hard. “...I have her call me sister. I tell her, I told her, that I want to be a wife. Sometimes she brings me nice things and we dress up and dance and pretend to be meeting other women and handsome men at big parties. Sometimes we sing for the men and they fall in love with us.”
“That sounds like fun.”
He nods. “It is! I have fun when I'm a girl.”
I smile warmly. “I thought that might be the case.”
There is a moment of silence and I can feel the mood shift toward darkness. “I would be punished. Severely.” Fear passes over his beautiful features and I notice he unconsciously rubs the scars on his wrist. “I would be beaten.”
“Nobody is going to punish you Marama, not anymore. Not if I can help it.”
“F-Father said he was ashamed to have a son like me. He makes me stand up when I pee. He doesn't let me wear pretty clothes like Miru.” A fat tear rolls down his cheek. “He says he wishes I'd never been born. Mother says...to be a man...and...and...” His voice cracks with emotion.
As Marama breaks down I pull him in tight and hug him with all I had. “Shhh, don't cry. It's okay. It's okay Mara. Your Father is a very foolish man. He can't see your greatness because of his own shortcomings.” I wipe the tears from his skin with my thumb. “I didn't mean to upset you. I'm sorry.”
He sniffles and nods, showing impressive emotional resilience given the raw feelings that were coming to the surface right now. “It's okay.” He gathers himself with a series of long deep breaths. “I have so many questions Tony, but...I don't know how to say them.”
Lifting his chin up with my fingers I look him eye to eye. “Let's not complicate things. Listen, a crazy idea, but maybe you'll be interested. Did you want to try being a girl for a little? I promise I won't laugh at you or tease you or anything. And if it doesn't feel right that's okay too.” I grin. “It can be like your playtime, but all the time.”
He thinks...he thinks...and then he smiles. A naughty impish little smile as he weighs this act of rebellion and liberation in his mind. “Yes. I want to do it! I want to be a girl!” She says, absolutely beaming with life. “I don't want to be a cutie, I want to be a real girl!”
I laugh. “Ohhh, you are still a cutie my dear.”
“BUT...!” She protests.
“I'll explain later.” I kiss her flush on the lips. “Come on now, we have a new home to set up.”
