A Giant's Heart: Chapter 25
🕑 Added 2021-04-14 21:17:35 +0000 UTCThe first thing I become aware of is the steady babble of flowing water. Arms are around me, big strong arms. I am being held to a large warm soft body, flesh to flesh. A breast larger than my head pillows my right cheek and a thick finger caresses my left.
“Drake?”
Opening my eyes I see Osa’s worried face peering down at me. She had me up in her lap and cradled close.
“Hey.” I whisper.
“Good?”
“I’m okay.” I tilt my sore neck to stretch it then quip. “Was it good for you?” Relief washes over Osa as she sees I am awake and cracking jokes. This was hardly the first time I’d passed out from lack of oxygen. The last time it happened I was fighting my out of the the gut of a Cavern Worm, thankfully my group finished the job from the outside. This time had been far more enjoyable.
“Not dead.” She kisses the side of my head.
“Not such a bad way to die though.” I chuckle.
“No die!” Osa slaps my belly. “Drake strong.” She taps my lips playfully with her index finger. “Feel good. Good mouth sex.”
“Good pussy.” I say right back as I give the finger a little smooch. “You are something else Osa.”
“What else?” She asks curiously.
“Nevermind.” I laugh, she laughs too despite not knowing exactly why. After two orgasms she was feeling real good.
She nuzzles and smooches me as I lie there soaking up her attentions. It was strange being held like this, cradled up on this huge woman’s lap. It felt really nice to be sure but almost…childlike. As if I weren’t already humbled enough. Rubbing my neck I sit up and roll my shoulders. While I’d had a hell of a squeeze nothing was injured or out of place, just a little strain here and there. Osa’s big left hand rubs my back as I sit on her thigh recovering. Reaching up I pat her cheek.
“You were really worried about me, weren’t you?”
“Yes.” She says happily. She then adds as casually as anything. “Love Drake. No hurt.”
I stiffen up and my hand slowly lowers. “What…did you say?”
She smiles that wide warm smile of hers. “Want Drake happy.” She goes for a hug but I push her back.
“No. What did you say? What did you say just now?” I press. She could sense my rising annoyance and it confused her. “Tell me!”
“No hurt. Worry for Drake.”
“No! You said love. You said love Osa.”
She was still smiling but her confusion grew with my suddenly sharp angry tone. She nods and states unequivocally. “Osa love Drake.”
“Osa…!?” I stand and spin to face her. She reaches for me but I pull away. “No! No you don’t! Don’t ever say that again.”
“Love Drake.” She says again as if it were a matter of fact. “Osa happy. Osa love Drake.”
“I told you not to say that.” I warn. “Stop saying that!”
“Why?” Osa asks, her voice raising to match mine. I could see she hadn’t a clue why I was reacting like this, she wasn’t the only one. I was as confused as she was but working on pure emotion. She says again defiantly. “Love Drake!”
“No…you don’t.” I close my eyes and try to settle my building anger. She had no right to use that word. She didn’t know me. She couldn’t grasp what that word truly meant. Something inside of me snaps. I take a breath and say in a low tone. “I shouldn’t get so upset I suppose. What can a monster possibly know of love?” The words were meant to hurt and when I opened my eyes to see Osa’s pained expression I knew they had landed as intended. “You have no idea what that word means. For you love is just sex, isn’t it? I gave you mouth sex so you love me now.”
“No. Not monster.” She says with anger. “Drake hurt Osa!” She thumps her chest with her fist. “Hurt! Bad talk.”
“Oh stop it.” I say. “Stop pretending. I’m just the fool nursing you back to health. A little plaything to toy with until you’re strong enough to kill me.”
“NO!” She slaps the water with thunderous force sending up great spray. “No kill! No hurt! Why!? Why you say?” She wanted to say more but she was reaching the limits of her language skills and it frustrated her. “Osa angry!”
“Good!”
“Why love bad!? Love good!”
“Stop using that word!”
“No!” Holding her arms out she says. “Drake like clean. Osa clean.” She runs a hand over her arm. “Clean. Nice for Drake. Osa eat gift. Osa have friend Blerk. Osa take magic.” She pats her bad leg. “Drake not hit Osa. Drake nice. Drake sing. Drake laugh. Drake talk. Drake sex. Osa feel good! Feel best good. Best good!” She clenches her fists as she urgently searches for the right words before falling back to. “Osa love Drake.”
“Osa! I don’t love you! I can’t love you!”
“Drake no love Osa.” Her brows furrow, her lips purse, but she is steadfast. “Osa love Drake. Drake good man.”
“No!” I step forward and slap her cheek right where I had so tenderly patted it just moments ago. She brings her hand to her face, not actually hurt but stunned I had struck her like that. “I let this get out of control. I am such a fool.” She goes to slap me back but I deftly avoid her clumsy attempt. I slap her again across the other cheek. “You don’t love me Osa. You’re a monster. Monster’s can’t love anything.”
I see real anger burn in her amber eyes. “Not monster!” She goes to punch me but again I weave around it. I could sense her strikes before she even threw them just by reading her body. She follows up with another but again she can’t touch me. “Osa love Drake!”
I hit her again, harder this time. “You big stupid oaf. You’re a liar! A FUCKING LIAR!” My screamed words hurt her far more than my slaps. Her bottom lip trembles as again she tries in vain to slap me. Some petty little part of me was satisfied that I could hurt her with my words as much as she hurt me with hers. Despite what I’d said it wasn’t a lie that cut me to the bone, it was a truth. Try as I might to deny it I could see that when she said love…she meant it. Simple, plain, honest love. These weren’t the comfortable hollow words of my wife’s cool affection. Osa could only speak her heart…and that’s what hurt the most. “You’re just a filthy nasty giant. You’re stupid! You’re ugly!”
Still simmering with rage she gives up on trying to hit me and sits there glaring. “Drake…stupid.”
“Drake stupid.” I mock her voice. “Is that all you can say? Fucking idiot.”
She hisses something nasty in her native tongue.
“That’s it.” I urge her.
She swears some more in her harsh guttural language.
“That means you hate me, doesn’t it? You hate me! Say it!”
“Drake!” She says, anger turning to despair. “No hate! You hurt. Hurt Osa.” Tears start to well up in her big expressive eyes as she holds her hand over her heart. “Hurt.”
“STOP IT!”
She fights back the tears. “Why? Why Drake bad talk? What Osa do bad?”
“Osa. Osa!” My fists shake at my sides. “You…you…stupid…frustrating…infuriating…”
“Ridicalas?” She whispers. There is a long moment of quiet as the memory of that silly word sinks in.
“You can’t love me! You can’t!” I exclaim as my own tears begin to flow. “Can’t you see? Osa…I…I’m broken. I am fucked up. I am not strong like you say. I am shattered. I am smashed to bits. I’ve done things…you can’t even imagine. I’ve hurt so many. I’ve killed so many. I see them every night! I’m barely holding the pieces together Osa. I live one day to the next…I don’t know what I’m doing anymore. I’m no good Osa, no good for anything or anyone. I’m all used up Osa. There’s nothing left of me. My friends…they’re all gone…and they each took a piece of me with them! You don’t want me Osa. You don’t want a man like me. I can’t…I don’t…I don’t deserve love. Certainly not your love.” My voice goes quiet. “I am not good Osa. I am a bad man. I am the monster. Monster’s can’t love anything.”
Osa straightens up and fixes me with firm stare. “NO!”
My arms go limp at my sides and my head falls forward. “Don’t fall in love with a broken man Osa. You deserve better.”
The next thing I knew huge powerful hands had me in their grasp and I am pulled in an all encompassing embrace. She hugs me like I’d never been hugged before. “Drake heal Osa.” She says with a inner conviction as strong as her great body. “Osa heal Drake.”

I have to confess one of my greatest weaknesses as an author is knowing what will and will not take off. Personally I thought this one, A Love So Deep, and Jo White were fine stories yet they got very little attention at the time. Once SG2 is done I may turn to one of these older stories to continue. Always seems a shame to leave the characters frozen in time like this.

Where do you bring these stories from? Sorry to see this pause here, although, a great cliff-hanger final paragraph. I hope Drake finds what he needs in the unwritten chapters that follow. Osa too.

I'm not sure why but this one didn't seem to catch on, I switched to Slave Girl when that one proved to be much more popular. I'd like to come back to it at some point though.
