Let It Burn: Part 5
🕑 Added 2021-11-25 19:22:15 +0000 UTCHuffing and heaving and drenched in sweat we pull ourselves into each others arms. Battered, scratched, bruised and exhausted, on the surface of the toppled altar, we come together in a lovers embrace. We kiss and cling to each other tightly, not wanting to let go of either the others warm body or this fleeting fragile moment. But, as fate would have it, the spreading fire would only spare us a few short minutes.
“Why…the fuck…didn’t we do that sooner?” Sin sighs as our short lived intimacy fades away. “Ohhhh wow!”
“Ha! I hear you.” I let out a breath and wipe my sweaty brow. “Nnngh.” I groan as the aches and pains of our clash start to soak through the pleasure that had been holding them back. “Gonna feel that in the morning.”
She laughs. “Yeah.”
With growing concern I note the the smoke collecting at the roof and brightening yellow illumination. “Your…your church is burning.”
“Let it burn.” She grins, a twisted evil grin. “Let it all fucking burn.”
“Mmm, a shame.” I say as the flames start to lick up along the wooden support beams near the ceiling. “It was pretty.”
“Who will notice another destroyed building after tonight?”
“We will.”
“Hm, true.”
“We should get out of here.”
She turns her head, looking me deeply in the eyes. “Hey…Angel.”
“Yeah Sin?”
She takes deep breath and says…
What is the next line? Stay tuned.
