Jo White: Chapter 19
🕑 Added 2022-09-13 17:17:39 +0000 UTCThe bright midday light makes me squint as I peek out the hatch to make sure the coast was clear. Moving carefully so as not to catch my skirt I climb out and close the passage behind me. Checking myself over to make sure all looked right I stand up and stroll out from behind the bushes as casually as anything, just in time to see Johnny stand up a few bushes away with my shopping bag in his hand. The shopping bag with the special garments I bought that could hold my imitation pee-pee in place, garments that might give away my ruse.
“That’s mine!” I blurt out before he could look inside. Hurrying toward him I say again. “That’s mine. Sorry about that.”
He looks up at me surprised by my sudden appearance. “Who are you? How’d you get in here? The public aren’t allowed in here.”
As I approach I realize he is taller than I thought. Having only seen him beside the towering Gretchen had given me a false sense of his size. While very lithe and not a large man by any stretch he was actually bigger than Prince by some bit. Johnny was hot, super hot, but my babe was still the cutest.
“I’m not the public.” I say as I snatch my bag from him a bit too bruskly. “I’m Jo. I’m the new girl here.”
“Ohhhh!” He says. “Yes. Roland said there was going to be another new girl. I’ve seen Dot exploring out here but I haven’t seen you around yet.”
“I just got in yesterday. I’m still getting my feet under me.”
“Got it. Well welcome to Georgia pretty lady.” He holds out his hand. “The name is Johnny. Happy to meet you Jo.”
“Good to meet ya.” I take his hand and shake it. “Sorry about the bag. I just tucked it there as I looked around a bit. You maintain a really nice garden here Johnny.”
His shoulders lift with obvious pride. “Well thank you.” He looks around. “I’m still learning from Roland but yeah, it’s looking good. I think I’ve been blessed with a green thumb.” His gaze drifts back to the house. “I just love this job.”
Yeah, he loved something alright and I wasn’t so sure it was the shrubbery. It was so weird talking to him so casually like this after what I’d just witnessed. I definitely had the advantage on the poor guy. For him I was a total stranger. For me I knew that he was head over heels crazy for Gretchen, that he liked submission and humiliation, what he looked like in the buff, that he had been trained to have zero sexual stamina, and that he had just been anally reamed harder than I’d ever seen anybody fucked before. What made it even weirder was the way he acted like nothing had actually happened back there.
“Hey, are you feeling okay?” I ask, even though he looked just fine.
“Huh? Oh, yeah. Never better. Er, why?”
“I don’t know. You just looked…flushed. The sun and heat I thought might be getting to you?”
“Nah, I’m good.” He assures me. “Southern boy born and raised, this isn’t even that bad.”
“It is to me!” I laugh. “So, uh, I was looking around the backyard just, like, fifteen minutes ago.”
That was right during the time he and Gretchen were going at it. “Were you?” His answer is natural, his reaction not showing the slightest bit of worry about somebody potentially having witnessed his outdoor fornicating. I would have been mortified! Even if this was some fetish for him and he liked being seen like that I would have expected some sort of tick or sign.
“Yeah.” I say. “I was.”
He thinks. “Huh. I didn’t see you. The side paths are pretty private though. Good places to read or just chill out.” Or get turned out in his case. He chuckles. “Here I thought I was alone. I hope my singing didn’t bother you.”
Singing? Dude, you were fucking howling! “Not at all.” I say with a grin. “Sing it loud and sing it proud king. I just thought I heard Gretchen is all and…”
“Gretchen!” His face lights up. “Was she out here? I missed her?” Johnny’s eyes snap back toward the house and with a lovestruck sigh he says. “I didn’t see her. How did I miss both of you? Darn it.”
Again, if he was bluffing I saw no sign of it. His eyes didn’t look dilated or bloodshot or foggy. He looked sharp and showed no signs at all of being drugged. And his regret at having missed his crush was as genuine as it came. This just did not add up. Was this some sort of elaborate practical joke on the new girl? If it was it was a strange one, and I couldn’t imagine a reason why they’d want to.
“Oh, I might have been mistaken. It was probably you I was hearing. She’s got such a bold and…commanding voice, I could have mistaken it for a man’s.”
“Yeah” He swoons. “Are you a friend of Gretchen’s?”
“Well, we just met yesterday.” Remembering my peeping partner I begin to stroll and pull the conversation out toward the front yard. “I barely know her.”
“Of course.” He says. Reaching out Johnny brushes his hand across a crimson flower on a nearby bush as he passes it by. “Do…do you think that maybe…she was looking at my garden?”
In that moment I realize that Johnny worked hard at his horticultural craft not for professional pride or for money, but to try to catch his true love’s eye. My heart melts at his romantic soul. Even if he didn’t remember everything, though I was still not convinced of that, somewhere deep down surely he knew that his feelings were not in vain. It would be just terrible if he actually couldn’t remember that tender loving touch that Gretchen gave him before she left him slumbering on that bench.
“Perhaps.” I wink. “Or perhaps she was admiring a certain handsome young gardener?”
“Oh!” He blushes and laughs nervously. “Ha ha ha! Yeah right.”
I pat his shoulder. “Your day will come Johnny, hang in there.”
He smiles coyly. “Is it that obvious?”
“Oh yes.” I laugh. “It’s adorable. You might as well be wearing a sign saying that you’ve got the hots for her.”
“Do you think that would help?”
“No! Oh my God.” I laugh. “If my guy did that before we were a thing I probably would have run and hid from embarrassment.”
“You’ve got a guy?” He stops and turns to me, his demeanor deadly serious. “How? How did he woo you? How did he win your heart Jo? What’s the secret?”
“Woo me?” I say. “I dunno. It was sort of a mutual wooing. It just sort of happened, ya know?”
“I don’t know.” His shoulder sag.
“Hey, cheer up.” I say. “Just…keep doing whatever you’re doing. I’m sure it will all work out.” I hoped it would anyway. After what Gretchen had done to his sexual stamina, his slavish spirit, and his well broken ass it would be cruel to send him out into the general dating pool now. “I’ll put in a good word for you, how’s that?”
“Would you!?” He cheers right back up. “Aw, Jo. Thank you!”
“No prob.”
“Hey, Jo, I know we just met but…can we chat sometime?” He asks. “I just need some advice. Some pointers. From a girl. You know?”
Did he think I was some sort of font of womanly wisdom? Based on the desperate look in his pretty brown eyes…yes. “I don’t know what I can tell you, but sure Johnny. We can chat sometime.”
“Thanks again.” He smiles. “I better get back to it. A lot to do still before my shift ends.”
“You bet.” I say. “Have a good one.”
We go our separate ways, me toward the front door and Johnny back to his trimming. I hoped my distraction was enough for Beatriz to slip out unseen. As an experienced sneak I’m sure she’d manage okay. As I climb the steps things were really bothering me now. Johnny truly did not seem to remember what happened. And he was sharp as a tack. What kind of drug could possibly do that? I would do a bit of research but I already knew the answer. There were none. The human body just could not react that way naturally.
‘Maaaagic.’ Sloane’s lilting voice echoes in my mind.
I was still coming to grips with the idea of a secret society of hung hermaphroditic women, literally to grip in the case of Beatriz’s huge hog, but magic? Impossible. Yet I would have said the same about the former just a day ago. All the little moments and references were coalescing into something that every rational fiber of my intellect could not accept yet was being forced to. Could this be the ‘big’ secret Dot referenced last night? If it was possible for a secret to be bigger than the sister’s mega-dicks…this would certainly fit the bill. The discovery of a race of two-sex humans would change the science books forever, but the existence magic could actually change the world.
“I love you!”
“Huh!?”
I had barely stepped through the door when I find myself in a big Hawaiian hug. “Well hello cute stuff.” I laugh as I recognize Dot’s wavy brown hair. “Did you miss me?”
“Yeah.” She says. The next thing I knew she was nuzzling into my breast and nipping at me! “Hey!” I push her away. I knew she enjoyed the titty suck last night even more than I did, but geez, show some restraint! “Easy there girl.”
“Sorry.” She titters and looks up at me. “My pen broke today.”
“What?”
“My pen. The green one. It just blobbed out all of its ink at once then made a swirl. It was kinda pretty…like violin music.”
“Alright.” I smile at my capricious roomie.
She slips from my arms and hops back. In a lacy white crop top and a bubblegum pink pleated skirt Dot was looking both cute and sexy in equal measure. Come September she’d have the guys at her new school absolutely drooling. “Hey, can I take your laptop apart?” She asks. “I just want to see something. I’ll put it back again.”
“Uh, no.”
“Okay.” She snorts and crinkles her nose at the rejection. “Everybody’s home I think. We should go to the beach. Can we go now?”
“Now?” I shake my head laughing at the repeated non sequiturs. What a scatterbrain! “I mean, sure.” I hold up my shopping bag. “I’m nearly ready if everybody else is ready.”
“Ready for what?” In walks Hanae in baggy shorts and a tight tanktop. Her black hair is soaked and her skin glistened with a fresh sweat. She had a ‘pump’ on which swelled her already impressive physique. Wow!
“Th-the beach.” I stutter, trying not hard not to ogle this gleaming specimen of womanhood.
“Ha!” She claps her hands, the sinewy muscles of her arms flexing and making my poor little overstimulated cooch flutter to life yet again. “Hell yeah! We never go to the beach as a group.” She strides up and puts an arm around each of us. She pulls us both into her sweaty Herculean embrace and gives us a rough shake. “This’ll be rad.”
“Aw geez!” I crinkle my nose at the not unpleasant but very noticeable body odor. With her sense of humor I suspected she had hugged us specifically because she was fresh from a workout. “Gross!” I object, but she just smiles and shakes me again.
“I’m giving Jo a ride!” Dot insists quite vehemently. “You guys can meet us down there.” Slipping from Hanae’s arm she takes my hand and tugs me along to follow her. “Come on Jo.”
“I’m coming, I’m coming.” I laugh. Looking to Hanae. “You’ll wrangle the others?”
“Wrangle?” She chuckles. “I’ll talk to the boss.” She says, referring to Dom. “We’ll wrangle them and then some. Get as many as we can. Which beach?”
“Er, Tybee Island somewhere?” It was literally the only one I knew.
“Big. Crowded.” Hanae says. “No chance to sneak in a swim unnoticed. Might scare Beatriz off too, if she’s even coming.”
“Oh.”
“Fish Haul Beach Park up at Hilton Head Island.” Dot says, apparently already having a plan. “It’s low tide this afternoon. Should be fun!”
“Never been there.” Hanae says. “Alright, we’ll track you down there then.”
“Look for the pink umbrella.”
“Got it.”
From there I am whisked away upstairs where we nearly bowl right over Gretchen who was coming the other way.
“Watch it!” Her sharp voice cracks like the snap of a bull whip. She pushes us back then looms over us, hands on hips, like a stern overstrict mother. “I will NOT be ran over by a couple of first year dicklets.”
“S-s-sorry!” I stammer reactively, years of living with a cruel authoritarian taking over. “I’m sorry!”
“You will be if you do it again.” She says as she smooths out her blouse. “When you are in the house, walk.”
“We were just in a hurry.” Says Dot, bright as ever. “We’re going to the beach! You comin?”
Gretchen’s icy gaze snaps from me to Dot…and my whole body goes taut. Those cold eyes, that humorless expression, that impenetrable steel confidence, that cruel spirit that I had just witnessed berate and emasculate the innocent boy Johnny, it all reminded me of a terrible presence that I’d just escaped. Instinctively I pull Dot back to shield her and I glare up at the giant German.
“Leave her alone.” I hiss. “She didn’t mean it.”
This surprises both of them. Dot stood there confused but as Gretchen looks back to me she recognizes the defensive defiance for what it was. She raises a curious brow as she studies me. In the back of my mind I recall Beatriz’s warning to me that Gretchen was not somebody to cross. But I had not moved all this way simply to trade one bully bitch for another, especially when that bitchiness was focused on the sweetest woman in the whole damn world. I had no doubt she could crush me like a bug, but if Gretchen wanted a fight she would get one.
Her gaze locked on mine her presence seems to fill the whole house. She seems to grow and I seem to shrink as her intense stare drills down into me. I felt so small, so vulnerable, yet I stand my ground. I would not have my friend bullied and that was that. And then…she does something my implacable aunt never had and never would. She cedes. With a slow nod and a backward step she says. “Be more considerate in the future. This is our home, not a playground.”
“Uh…of course.” I say, shocked by her unexpected reaction. Was that respect I saw in her pale blue eyes? I’d sold her short. She was hard, she was frosty, she demanded respect, but beneath the surface she was not at all like my Aunt Regina. “We’ll be more careful.”
“Sorryyyy.” Dot says.
“Apology accepted.” She says. Standing over us she waits. She might cede the point but there was no way in hell she was about to make way for a couple of freshmen. Dot and I shift to the side and let her by.
“Whooo!” I let out the breath I’d been holding the moment she was out of earshot.
“Come on!” Dot pulls me along.
“Hold on, geez.” I say, still shook from the encounter. “What’s the rush?”
“Low tide.” She says. “Get ready.”
“Wait a sec. I want to talk to you first.” As the one person I knew that I could probe without raising suspicions I had questions aplenty for my new bff. Questions about city hall, vibrating jeeps with funny keys, forget-me-shots, and maaaagic. Plus I wanted to her to see my new bulge, just to make sure it was convincing…and because I thought it looked so cute. But all of that would have to wait.
“No time.” She says. “I don’t want to miss it. We can talk on the way.”
“Alright Dot.” I smile, more than a little excited to at last touch a real ocean. “Sounds fair. We’ll talk on the way.”
***
Fast forward an hour and I am clung for dear life to the back of Dot, her full backpack sandwiched between us, as we buzzed down the highway at full throttle, which in the case of Dot’s little scooter meant about forty miles per hour. Cars, trucks, campers, and semis roar past us leaving a wake of buffeting wind behind them which causes us to swerve and wobble each and every time. Half of them honk at us and a few shout as they pass to tell us to ‘get off the damn road!’ Dot just beeps right back and waves. Tucked under my right arm I carry Dot’s folded pink frilly umbrella like a mounted knight would his lance, on my other hip my satchel sits looking like a shield. Behind me the back of my dress flaps in the wind, flipping up occasionally to show the world my panty-clad behind. I’d tuck it under but with constant gusts and swerves I didn’t dare let go of Dot for even a second. Thankfully, unlike in the jeep, the visored motorcycle helmets we wore, Dot’s pink and mine white, at least hid my blushing face. We looked ridiculous!
Between the incessant buzz, the roar, the honking, the fluttering frills, the flapping skirt, and our big glossy helmets I can’t even hear myself think never mind hold a conversation.
