A Simple Life: Chapter 158
🕑 Added 2024-07-23 20:54:04 +0000 UTCKayla’s front door flies open before Babe had even had time to announce our arrival. She’d clearly been on the lookout for us. She was wearing skin tight black leggings that showed off her toned legs magnificently and a voluminous black and white striped sweater that really shouldn’t go together, yet on her it just worked. Kayla had that way about her. Whatever she wore she made look good without even trying. Her hair was pulled back sleek and flat like I’d never seen it, the mass of her curly locks pulled back into a tight braid. She gives Winona a stern squint before shifting her fiery glare to singe me next.
“You jerks!”
“Er…hello to you too?” Winona says.
“Get in here!” Grabbing my hand Kayla yanks me into her house and doesn’t stop pulling until my hand was directly under one of the spotlights above the kitchen island. “Lemme see it.” Holding my hand she quickly finds my ring and starts to study it in detail. “Mmmm.”
Up from the floor in front of the sofa stands Briar wearing a super cute outfit of a tawny brown cable knit sweater vest with a little mouse sewn into the design at the left breast worn over a long sleeve collared white blouse with a calf length chocolate brown skirt. And what was that I saw peeking out in the gap between her socks and the hem of her skirt as she walked? Were those fishnet stockings!?
“Hi Avery!”
“H-Hi Briar.”
Excitedly she hurries up to my side to get a look at my ring as well. “Ooooo!” Her brown eyes widen. “It’s soooo pretty!”
“I liiiiike it.” Kayla agrees. “Not big and tacky, it really suits your hand. And the pink really goes with your hair and eyes. It’s perfect.” She looks up at me, joy twinkling in her eyes. “It looks beautiful on you, Avery. Like you were meant to wear it.”
My cheeks hurt I am smiling so hard. “Th-Thank you.”
“Um, hello? I’m here too ya know.” Winona gripes as she steps in and closes the door behind her.
“Hello, Ms. Crow.” Comes Babe’s calm, conversational voice. “It is a pleasure to see you again.”
“Gee, thanks.” She replies frostily while she sets out platters onto the island. Sliding in behind me she wraps me up in a hug and rests her chin on my shoulder to watch our friends ogle her gift to me.
“I’m so happy for you two!” Briar beams. “Do you know when it’s going to be? Is it going to be here on the island?”
“It?”
“The…um…” She looks back and forth between Winona and I. “…wedding?”
Winona chuckles and hugs me tight before planting a smooch into my neck. “This is a promise ring. And a celebration of our week together.”
“A whole week!” Kayla quips. “You guys are really taking it slow, huh?”
I giggle and hug the ring to my breast. “If it’s m-meant to be…why wait?”
“Exactly. Nuptials aren’t in the plans, yet.” Winona kisses me again. “But with this ring I commit to my man and my man alone.”
“Me too!” I say, before blurting. “But to m-my woman! Forever!”
“Forever? Ugh. Monogamy.” Kayla says. “Soooo boring.” She turns toward the cupboards to pulls us down some glasses. “But if that’s what makes ya happy, you go.”
Behind her she doesn’t see Briar’s face flinch. “Yeah.” She says softly as her body language wilts. “Monogamy is so lame.”
“See.” Kayla says, oblivious to the effect her words were having on the tiny woman with the big crush. “Briar knows.”
I look to Briar. She flashes me a nervous smile to assure me that she was okay, though it quickly disappears.
Also blind to Briar’s torment Winona steps up on the much smaller woman to glower down at her. “Yeah. I heard about you and your ways.”
“Huh?” Briar peeps, her eyes big and round as she peered up at my looming girlfriend.
“What is all this about you holding hands with MY guy? Hm?”
“Huh!?”
“Winnie?” Kayla looks back over her shoulder.
I am just about to step in and let Briar know Winona was just fooling around when she breaks the tension herself. “Just messin with ya.” Winona laughs and pats Briar’s arm. “We talked. It’s cool. I think it’s kinda sweet, actually.”
“Whoooo.” Briar blows a breath of relief.
“As long as that’s all it is!” Winona fixes her with a stern look.
“Yes. Yes!” Briar nods. “Of course.”
“You’re mellowing in her old age.” Kayla jests.
“I’m like one year older than you are!” Winona protests.
“And Avery.” Kayla shoots back. “And a few months older than Briar. Face it, amongst us you’re the withered old elder.”
“Withered!? I’ll wither your ass!”
“You can’t threaten me with a good time! HEY!” Kayla laughs as Winona scoops her off the ground to throw her over her shoulder. She spins her around once before laying a stiff spank to her bubble booty. In the snug leggings there was nothing to dampen the impact. WHAP! Instead of crying out in distress however Kayla turns the tables and lets out the LEWDEST moan. “Ohhhhhhhhh!”
“Aww, you slut!” Winona plunks Kayla back on the floor again and backs away like she was on fire. “It wasn’t that kind of spank!”
“Ohhh, Winnie.” Kayla says, acting all flustered and fanning herself. “It’s been awhile! He he he! Ohhh my!”
“I will destroy you.” Winona grumbles.
“Oh God, YES!” She flings her arms wide and her head back, ready to be destroyed. “I am at your mercy!”
“GRRR!”
“Pffft!” Coming together Briar and I begin to titter at the other’s antics. After a moment’s awkwardness our hands slip into each others whereupon it wasn’t awkward at all. “You okay?” I whisper as Kayla and Winona banter with each other.
She gives me a smile and a nod.
Leaning in I say even more quietly. “I l-l-like your stockings.”
Her face brightens even as her cheeks darken. “Kayla did too!”
The merriment begun the four of us settle into having a good time. In the background bouncy, bopping pop tunes play as we talk and joke and laugh and even dance a little. When it came to the potluck Kayla was on drinks with Winona grilling the chicken kebobs while Briar and I did everything else and soon we are at the table chowing down as we excitedly talked about what we’d be looking for in the shopping trip to come.
It was so cool watching them and listening to them. Winona, without having a character to dress as, was more here for the vibes and companionship. She was planning on getting something appropriately fantasy-esque so that she joined in the fun but she had the most leeway on what she was after. I suggested that she dress like Lady Ara but she joked that she’d never seen a suit of full plate at the local thrift shop. Despite Briar having the biggest challenge, turning a super petite woman into a massive and monstrous behemoth was no small task after all, she was not the slightest bit discouraged. She already had ideas as to how she might transform certain garments and materials with a creative application of scissors and sewing. A power-gamer to the end she also one-upped the rest of by being a head of the game.
“3-D printing?” Kayla says.
“Mm hm.” Briar nods as she chews her sushi. “Just a few key pieces. Nothing major.”
“Yeah right.” Mutters Winona.
“I c-can’t wait to see!”
For Kayla the fun was in the finding a fashion not for herself but for her male incubus character Horny Fucker. There was definitely some fantasy fulfillment going on as she spoke passionately about the sexy and roguish style that was going to find for her demon-blooded character.
“Tomorrow night I’m gonna be the hottest dude on the island.” She says, before looking at me. “No offense.”
I giggle. “None taken.”
“What about you, Avery?” Briar asks from across the table. “What are you looking for?”
“Me?” I look from Briar to Kayla then over to Winona, who was watching me with warm, loving eyes. “I’m…l-looking for an emerald c-colored gown. L-Long and flowing, l-like the elves wear. A b-belt, m-maybe some slippers.”
“Ooo, nice.”
I take a deep breath. This was it. “I, um, I m-might get s-s-some other stuff too.”
“Oh?”
“Mm.” I nod and swallow hard before continuing in a small, halting voice. “M-Maybe another n-n-nightie. Other st-stuff.”
Kayla looks over at me, a brow raising. “Another nightie?”
“Mm.” I nod. “And G-Grandpa agreed I should p-p-probably get my own makeup too.”
“Your own…?”
“It’s okay, baby girl.” Winona reaches to rub across the back of my shoulders.
Kayla and Briar looks at each then back to me. Kayla seemed stunned, Briar intensely curious. “Baby girl!?”
“I, um, I f-figured out th-that I like…b-b-being…a girl.” I say. “Sometimes.” There it was. My big secret right out in the open. The silence that followed seemed to drag on for an eternity.
“That’s cool!” Briar smiles. “And you’re so pretty. I bet you look amazing in your nightie.”
“She does.” Winona answers. “My baby is the hottest girl on the island by a fuckin mile.” Glancing across to Kayla she quips. “No offense.”
“T-Tonight is m-my first real shopping trip though.” I say. “As a g-g-girl. I’m k-kinda nervous.”
“Ooo! How exciting. This is going to be fun!” Briar burbles. “Don’t be scared, Avery. We’re gonna make you look…”
“Stop!” Kayla exclaims, rattling the table as she pushes back from it to face me. “Hold on!”
I look at my best friend hoping SO HARD that she didn’t say anything mean. I don’t think I could bear it coming from her. “Wh-What?”
“You’re a girl!?”
“Um, s-sometimes. It’s c-complicated. Yes?”
“Mah boy, mah man, mah bestie…a girl?”
“Is th-that okay?”
“Wait, wait, wait.” She waves her hands. “How long have you known?”
“I, um, I th-think I always k-kinda knew.” I say. “I w-was trying to d-deny it though.”
“So back when you and I…?” She makes the universal sign of penis in pussy.
“Yes.” I laugh. “Even th-then.”
“The ONE guy that actually makes my top ten lovers list…turns out to be part girl!” She slumps back and looks over at Briar. “Shit. I think I might be a lesbian.” As the rest of us laugh she turns back to me and leans across to give me a big hug. “Come here you. That’s amazing, Avery!”
My heart shining I hug her back. “Thank you!”
Ohhh, this had gone even better than my highest hopes. I had felt that Kayla and Briar would be supportive but until this moment I couldn’t be sure. But they had been. Not simply supportive but genuinely happy for me. It made me so glad that I opened up and shared. The way Winona was beaming I could see that she was feeling my joy secondhand.
“God DAMN it!” Kayla curses as she falls back in her chair. “You tell me this now? AFTER you’re not on the market anymore!? Damn it! The fun we coulda had!”
Giggling I say. “S-Sorry.”
“Ya done missed your chance, Kay. My little lady is off the market for good.” Winona says as she slides closer to put her arm fully around me. Her other hand slides down my arm to cover my ring hand and hold it tight through interlocking fingers. “This pretty girl is all mine.”
