“He’s got the post-nut giggles.” Laughs Winona. “I guess ‘The Scourge’ had to come from somewhere. Briar girl! You beast! You dommed the fuck out of Babe!”
“That w-was awesome! You're awesome!”
Briar is nearly beside herself with embarrassed but happy chortles as she sits back down in her seat. Out of the corner of my eye I catch her hand hovering near the table leg between us just a little closer to me than would be normal. Picking up on the hint I slip my hand into hers.
As her small hand tightens around my slender one I can literally watch her courage double in size. “I know you wouldn’t know it to look at me but…I’m actually quite dominant sexually. VERY dominant. I’m talking knots and leather.”
I bite my lips so as not to giggle at what was the most ham-fisted attempt to flirt I’d ever heard. Briar was a nerd through and through. Wanting to back her up I chime in. “I c-could tell. As a b-bottom I can spot a true d-dominant.”
Kayla sits across from me with an amused grin. “Oh yeah? Is that so, Avery?”
“Yep.”
“So what happened with Eddie again?”
I blush and shrink in my chair. “Um…”
Her shrewd gaze snaps from me back to Briar. “So you’re a Domme, huh?”
“Yes I am.” Briar answers with all the boldness she could muster. Under Kayla’s sharp stare she suddenly blurts out. “I’m wearing fishnets tonight!”
“I saw that.”
“I’m a powerful dominatrix. I’m an aggressive lover. But, um, I also like it when they top from the bottom. Especially with other women.”
“Oh really?” Kayla says. “And…exactly how many women have you dommed, Mistress Briar?”
“Um…a lot. Like so many.”
“Gimme a ballpark.”
“Uhhh, like…30 or 40?” She flinches the moment the outrageous number leaves her lips.
“30 or 40!” Kayla exclaims. “Wow. You really run through your subs, huh?”
“Uh…”
“Hey. I appreciate a fellow aficionado of the flesh. We should compare our top 10’s at some point.”
“Erm…”
“40 subs.” Kayla marvels. “And that’s just the women! You must get bored with your parters easy, huh?”
“Oh no! No, no, no!” Briar shakes her head even as her whole dominant facade crumbles around her. “I…um…I’m demanding. That’s all. I demand perfection. I demand to OWN my submissives, body and soul.”
“Wow. Own them?”
Briar lets out a frustrated huff. With nothing left to lose she just lays it on the line. “I want to own you, Kayla!”
Kayla’s left brow slowly rises as the conversation dies in an instant. Briar’s big brown eyes widen in horror while her already pink face turns a bright red as she realizes what she’d just said.
“You want to own me, little white girl?”
“No! Oh God! No, no, no, no! I didn’t mean it that way! Um, erm, uhh.” Briar babbles, her grip on my hand ever tightening. I swear if she wasn’t holding onto me she would have been fleeing out the door. “I mean…I’m interested in you! Oh noooo.”
Leaving poor Briar to squirm Kayla slowly turns her gaze onto Winona next. “This is your doing.”
“Me!?” Winona, who had just been eying up the last kebab, looks up. “Huh?”
“I suspect that one of my former lovers may have been telling tales behind my back.” She says. “And I know it wasn’t Avery.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” Winona says as she snatches up the kebob and pulls half of it into her mouth in a single bite.
Kayla looks back to Briar, her glare softening. “Briar, babe. I don’t know what these two…” She glances frostily to Winona. “…or one have been filling your head with but there is NOTHING more unattractive to me than someone not being themselves.”
“Oh.” Briar peeps. “Sorry.”
Kayla leans in. “You don’t have to try to impress me, Briar. You’re impressive enough just as you are.”
“Oh!” Briar looks over to me then hesitantly back to Kayla again. “Um…the truth is…I’ve never been with another woman before.” She takes a long, deep breath as her head drops. “Or…anybody.”
“It’s okay B-Briar.” I say.
“I’m 24 and…I’ve never had sex before. I don’t even…know how!” She shifts closer to me. “Computers and FoF are a lot easier than real people.”
“That’s not a b-bad thing!” I hold her hand tight to my knee.
“There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a virgin.” Winona says warmly in that naturally soothing way she had. “It just means that special person hasn’t come along yet.”
“Until now.” Reaching over Kayla touches Briar’s shoulder and looks her in the eyes. “You wanted me to be your first?”
“Mm hm.” Briar nods. “You’re so…pretty and…sexy and…nice and…um, I really like you Kayla.”
“Aww! Oh my God!” Kayla smiles, genuinely flattered. “That is so…beautiful! You know, I’ve only had a couple of virgins before and they’re always so…”
“Kayla!” I say in a harsh whisper.
“What?”
“I…don’t want to be just a number.” Briar says. “I don’t want to be in a top ten list. Or…a bottom ten one.”
“Oh, geez.” Kayla says. “Briar!”
“I know, I know.” She says. “Avery warned me. She told me not to get my hopes up.”
“Hopes?”
“About…you being mine. Me being yours. I mean us being a thing…for real.”
“Okay. Stop. Time out.” Kayla gives Briar’s shoulder a squeeze. “You’re getting wayyy out in front of this, cutie pie. We haven’t even had a date and you’re already booking the wedding planner. Slow down, girl, and chill. Miss Romantic over here has been filling your head with all her notions of ‘The One’ and all that.”
“How do I keep getting blamed for everything?” Winona retorts. “I’m just sittin here!”
“As innocent as sin.” Kayla quips before returning her attention on Briar. “Even if you and I are meant for each other, if there’s even such a thing, that’s some pretty damn high expectations to live up to right out of the gate. Don’t ya think?”
“You’re right.” Briar falls silent a moment the nods. “You’re right.”
“As usual.” She says. “Take one step at a time. You’re less likely to trip.”
“Yeah.” Briar sighs. “So, um, do you wanna?”
“Wanna?”
“Go on a date?”
“Ha! You’re actually asking me now?”
“Mm hm.” Briar nods. “And I want an answer now. Please?”
“That’s very bold of you, Briar.”
“Well…I am a dominatrix.” She smiles. “In training.”
“Ha ha ha!” Kayla laugh and leans in to hug her strange and silly little friend. Briar releases my hand so that she could hug her back. “Well! How can I say no to the bitch queen of the Meadows?”
“You’ll go on a date with me!? Really?”
Sitting back Kayla bows her head and says most solemnly. “It would be my pleasure, Mistress.”
“Pbbfft!” Briar giggles before quickly composing herself again. “It’s just a date though! No expectations.”
“Well…I wouldn’t say NO expectations.” Kayla winks.
Our moods high we finish off our dinner joking and laughing and having a great time. I didn’t know if Briar was truly prepared for what she was getting into with Kayla but she was happy and I was happy for her. She was going in with her eyes open. And inexperienced as she was I could think of nobody better than Kayla to help a ready bud bloom. I know she’d done wonders for me. And I knew that Kayla, while promiscuous, was not callous. She cared for her friends and partners. If she and Briar became a thing she would not cheat on her or yank her around. As she’d done with Winona she would pull the plug directly and honestly. Yeah, it could hurt. But not as bad as betrayal. The fact that Winona and Kayla could still be friends after what happened with them spoke volumes to Kayla’s caring nature.
As the time for leaving got closer I was getting more and more excited and nervous in equal measure. My anticipation for this shopping trip exceeded even my trips to the mainland to browse the photography shops. By the time we were at the front door I am buzzing. Standing there I bounce on the balls of my feet impatiently waiting for the others to get their shoes on.
“Easy there, Sprout.” Winona slips her arm around me. “We’re going.” I giggle and snuggle into her side. “Remember, this one’s on me. You get whatever you want tonight, baby girl.”
“Thank youuu.”
Kayla and Briar share a smile and soon we are on our way.
As we stroll along the quiet lanes of the Meadow, its garden beauty all around us, Winona brings up a question that I just knew had been eating at her.
“Soooo.” Winona says. “You’ve got a top ten list, do you?”
With a knowing smirk Kayla answers. “None of your business.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Mm hm.”
“Well…let’s say if theoretically you did have one…”
“Would you make it?”
“Yeah.”
“You really want to know? I don’t usually blab about this stuff, like some people I know.”
“Yeah, I wanna know.”
Kayla laughs. “Yes, Winnie Crow, you’re in my top ten.”
“Ha! I knew it.”
After a few more steps Kayla adds. “Just below Avery Beckett.”
“What!?”
